Is it me or is Yahoo's listings pretty untidy for the amount of money they charge? I'm also wondering this, does getting listed in the directory prevent you from being indexed in their search engine which is what 99% of people search?

Why would it prevent you being indexed? I've heard a yahoo directory listing boosts your yahoo SERPs.

Exaclty, it doesn't, and because more people use the search yahoo search engine than ever do their directory is it really worth paying $299 per year to get listed in the directory when you already get listed in their search engine? That's a lot of money even for a PR chaser.

People do say a Yahoo Directory listing does help in Yahoo's Serps. So in some aspects a directory listing at Yahoo would give you higher SERP listings and thus, bring you more traffic and thus, if good trafic, more sales/revenue. I wouldn't say a $299/£299 listing is really worth it for an SME.

Hmm, I know of sites that are ranked in the top 10 for keyword search and phrases, of Yahoo's general search without ever being in their directory which would say to me that getting listed with them is a waste of time for $299. It's all subjective though.
