I could use a little advice on undoing a redirect for a client. They have a .net domain redirecting to a .com domain. They are using a 302 redirect. (HTTP/1.1 302 Object Moved) I know they should have used a 301. They want to rank two sites in the top ten for their main phrase. They already hold the top spot with the .com version of their site. I suggested we just use the .net version of their site and rank it in the number two position. I realize we have to make an entire unique site so it’s not a dup. The .net version of the domain is actually older than the .com so I think it will rank just fine once we get some quality links to it. I just want to know if there are any issues with something like this, if others have done it etc. I am trying to avoid starting with a brand new domain if they have an old one that is easily available. Thanks advance for the advice
