Hope someone can help me here :)

    I have a site that had a forum on a folder - www.example.com/forum/

Know one was using the forum so I decided the delete it and set a 301 redirect to the homepage because there where a few links coming in I didn’t want to loose the PR.

I added this line to the .htaccess

    redirect 301 /forum/* http://www.example.com

thinking the wildcard (*) would redirect all pages from within the forum to the home page.

Google has now de-indexed my homepage.

All other pages still present and still ranking for their keywords.

I have removed the redirect but am worried the site won’t come back.

Anyone got any suggestion or past experience in this matter?

    Regards
    Mike
