Understanding why my Account was Suspended

I was looking for a bit of clarity if anyone has thoughts. I have had a single twitter account for several years now and decided it was time to create one for my professional life and keep the original for my personal life.

I began using the new account to make professional posts on a subject where I work #mhealth. Since I am starting this account from the ground up with few followers I decided I would RT these messages with my personal account and post them to my Linkedin profile as well to raise the visibility of the tweets for the first couple weeks.

Then after only 2 messages I received this message from Twitter regarding my new account. "This account was suspended for sending multiple unsolicited messages using the @reply and/or mention feature".

Based on the examples sited by Twitter of how this offense can be committed I can think of no way I was doing so with my new account. When I would send out my original message I didn't use the @ symbol at all. I posted the message with my new account and then retweeted it via my old account and for some reason my new account was suspended. I do this all by Tweetdeck if that makes any difference.

I have not yet synced my new twitter account to my Linkedin profile. Could that have something to do with it? Twitter has said they will reinstate my new account but I want to understand what I did wrong in order to avoid violating the user polices again.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
    Chris

Why don't you contact Twitter direct? I'm sure they will be able to answer all of your questions. I can't understand why anyone who has an issue with whoever, doesn't speak/write to them rather than asking for answers on a public forum! That way, they'll get to know the answer rather than suppositions from all and sundry...
