Hi, Does anyone know this. I am aware that when ranking sites the SE's give weight to keywords in the domain name. BUT, what if the keywords are mixed up or backwords in the domain. For example (I don't own these) will a domain like DomainNames.com and NamesDomain.com; with all else being equal...rank the same for the keyword "Domain Names". Understand? I am thinking or getting some domains for my subject, but the keywords are backwards and/or mixed up and I'm wondering if it is worth it.
IMO it can be worth it, but... SE's do take word order in account when all else is equal, meaning that in your example domainnames.com will outrank namesdomain.com for the query domain names. It also depends on what you want out of it. If you want visitors to remember the name, you are better off with registering a catchy domain, but if your sole goal is SE traffic it sure can benefit you to have keywords in the domain.
My experience with Google is that, phrases should obey normal semantic rules. So cheap web hosting is ok but hosting web cheap is devalued. I am relating this experience with Adwords to possibly reflect how Google looks at mispellings or irregular phrases.
