Hi, I am new around here, in fact I am new to the whole concept of domains. I only just started with CSS, and I only know some very-basic HTML. While I am going through tutorials, I still don't understand name-servers for a domain. If they link a domain to the hosted area, then if I put my IP addressee for my server (Hypothetical, I don't have a server ) would my domain then link to information and pages on my server? And, what is the deal with multiple name-servers? What determines what name-server is looked at first, so if you typed in a domain, that had 3 name servers, how would your browser know what name-sever to look at first? Sorry about being a bit ignorant, I am new to this whole area
For windows servers, you will have IIS, internet information services and DNS, domain name server (not sure). once you create logs in your DNS for your domain name server, eg. ns1.mydomain.com ns2.mydomain.com with correct format. A,NS records... Then you add your domain to iis with the folder and nameservers. that is it. I might not be clear but it is hard to explain it in english.
