Underscore or Hypens over spaces in pages ?

Well, i was searching on google and make up my mind as to use hypen or underscore on my webpages , but i came across this article , which stats that on july 24th 2007 , news.com announced that google will now treat both hypens and underscores equally.

So is that true or shall i stick with hypens over underscores, or shall i choose hypens when starting new pages?

    Thanks

    Hyphen's are better

They make your URL look more clean and better
    Easily understandable

I know that Underscore also does that, but for me hyphens are a good seperator than Underscore

Yup, according to Matt Cutts, Google also sees underscore as a space.

they are now both treated the same so it doesn't matter which one you use

Many thanks for this information. The "Underscores or Hyphens?" question has caused much debate around here!

I have used underscores in all of my sites for 10 years, and I have excellent rankings on every site.

I have used the WORD-WORD.html for over a little a year now and it gets decent SERP results. I just recently started a site with WORD_WORD.html in the url and seeing how the results go for it.

I had better experience with hyphens than underscores, especially with google and msn.
