underperforming sites question :(

i have about 3-5 underperforming sites about 1yr old and gets about 2k uniques monthly. i am just using adsense and only makes little money. what should i do with them?

should i put more effort?

 

It depends on the effort that you have put in to them now. If you have only applied a little than hit it hard, if you have hit it hard and the sites still only do that, could be time for a revamp.

 

Promote your website more extensively such as buying ads space at forum/Adwordz/Stumble/Digg etc

 

Do some SEO, 2k uniques per month is not that bad. Experiment different ad positions and look for some other streams of income beside adsense. Maybe promote some affiliate products.

 

Try something other than adsense just to test it with the traffic.

Well, i don't know if u have any opt-in forms on the site, but if not, you might try adding some so you can bring in new leads and then through there offer them some aff products. Just a thought

Sell relevant products on them. Increase the number of ways in which you can earn income from them.

 

2k uniques/month is a good figure, make sure you have right position for your google ads, try to rearrange them so that you can get good number of clicks, also try to get some other affiliates programs

 

I personally would say it's worth the effort. 2k UVs per month is a nice number, and I bet if you put a little bit of effort in you could double that. Put the links in your sig and others, buy links etc. Try to fully monetise your site by positioning the Adsense boxes in primary positions and making sure the colour blends in. And then there are the ways that cost: buy links from other sites etc. It really depends, I think this is a perfect case of 'you get out what you put in'. The more you invest, the more you're likely to make.
