Hi. I'm building a website from the bottom. It's still under construction, so I told no1 but 2 friends of mine. Yet, yesterday I had 9 uniques. One it's mine, and two are from my friends. What about the other six? I am applying all that I've learnt about SEO on the last few weeks. Is it possible that I am doing such a good targeting that search engines are already giving me traffic? I haven't advertised it anywhere and my friends haven't told any1 yet... Where can it come from?
I'm not used to awstats, as I'm still starting with SEO. I noticed it has referrer's tracker... I was surprised to see it was from google... Well, the site is on the server for about 20 days now, so it's a good sign, I guess.
If possible check your visitor's keywords used to search at google! It may help you! (How?.. No idea.. but it may help you for sure..)
Yes, awstats give that too. I've used only 1 or 2 long tail keywords for every page, so that I can focus the page more on that keyword, plus some lil' tweaks I've learnt. It's really good when we find that something we do works out good. Although the site is only half finished, it i already atracting visitors.
datacentar.net first day 24 Jul 2007 Unique visitors 10 158 248 1.46 MB First mont First visit 24 Jul 2007 - 03:22 Last visit 31 Jul 2007 - 23:39 Unique visitors 188 Number of visits 288 (1.53 visits/visitor) 30644 (106.4 Pages/Visit) 32235 (111.92 Hits/Visit) 43.03 MB (153 KB/Visit) First sec after domain registration you get one advert. on who.is and other similar pages All domains with basic seo and some content on pages have similar stats, more content more visitors.
1. Get a decent counter... it will show you the referrer and keywords in case of organic traffic. 2. If you and your friends have dynamic IP's it might just happene that each of you reconnected to the internet several times a day and accessed the site, each time with a new IP. 3. Complete that site faster...
google can pick up new domains pretty fast, usually in a few weeks time, and even without any inbound links. Yahoo takes much longer and inbound links do help yahoo discover new domains. Of that all, a sitemap submission helps SEs to pickup the entire site.
Write this into the google: site:"www.yourdomain.com" and see if google has indexed any pages. If yes then it's probably that google can see websites under the hosting server and visits them even if they are never submitted to google.
Or again, some people who come to your domain by mistyping another popular domain name or with another extension...
I think this are direct visitors into your website. May be your domain name is little popular. Tell us your domain name
may be 2 friends to told, they told 2 or 3 others? put google analytics to see where the visitor come from. did u submit it to anywhere fof backlinks? or it can be just bots.
Hi. Sorry took so long to answer, but my father passed away yesterday and today we spent the day in the chappel. On topic: With awstats I found the origin (Google) and the keywords used. The IP are not mine or my friends, because we leave our computers running 24/7 on P2P. Plus, the IP are from three distinct countries. They aren't bots because besides this IP, there are also bot from Google and other portuguese search engine. The domain is similar to one well known, but with an aditional word in the end. I believe this is the result of optimizing title tags, meta tags and content with the help of a keyword analyzer. Thank you guys.
