Hi everybody, this is my first post here, I have a problem with Google Webmasters (GW)'s verification process. I have a new website at http://www.bluemoonanyer.com and I have been trying to sign up with GW to do site analytics and stuff. But somehow I cannot pass the site verification process. It gives me "We were unable to download a file due to a timeout error". The site is not down, it is accessible and it responds when it is pinged. I have used GW before with two other websites I run. and the process worked just fine. I either upload a custom page that Google provided or add a META tag to index page and it would work instantly. I have been fiddling with this for a week now. Everyday I try submitting the site for verification but it always failed with the same error message. Another problem with the site is that it is still not in Google's index even though it has been online for 4 weeks or so. My two other sites got indexed in 2-3 days. I think it is somehow connected to the "server timeout" error that Google gives. Anybody had the same problem before? Any clue/guess would be deeply appreciated. Thanks!
i got this same error and noticed that my server was blocked / down in several countries when i trying this. try again later..and it will be ok. also check the robots.txt and try both methods (file , META TAG) Thank You.
How long is it going to take, generally, before the problem is solved? Is it common to be as long as a month? (which explains why the site is not yet crawled) How do I check if my server is banned/down in other countries? (besides asking my friends abroad) Thanks in advance.
it maybe you server,give you a method:change a website server and upload a custom page that Google provided again. if success,tell me.
