Unable to stop Google recording my visits to my sites

Hey all, this is very frustrating to ask due to there being so much (apparently) useful documentation out there on how to do this, but this frustration doesn't compare to having Google record my own visits on my own site.

So I have tried using several different types of filters on GA, I followed one example of creating a unique page with just the tracking code on it (and then stopping GA from tracking that), I have tried robots, htaccess and even wordpress plugins (oh yeah, I'm using wordpress - hehe). NONE of these work. GA is still recording my visits.

I currently have a filter to stop my current IP address from recording visits and it is STILL recording me!

As I said, this is very frustrating as my site is new and I do not want to get excited when I see there have been multiple visits only to find that it's me.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

    TIA

    Daniel
