Ultimate Aviva Rip

Oh dude... don't worry I didn't say you got inspired. In fact the template is released by TM recently and aviva was revamped long ago.

 

hehe, feeling better to know that. I tried to look for release date but couldn't find it.

 

MAYBE - he is just doing it for traffic and link bait........

This thread alone is boosting his alexa for sure

This guy is so Impressed and so in love with Aviva that he just copied the whole directory

whats the hype about.. someone probably like his template and took it, happens to me all the time. Sometimes people even like my sites that they decide completely copy them

 

They Hype is that this is the directory forum,

I like the design of the natty more than aviva & also the it cannot be called a rip.. It has got more towards inspiration.

 

Ill just throw my 2cent in... it looks very much like aviva, the same ideas and colours have been used... the owner and designer should be slapped!

 

That is one of the worst rip offs I have ever seen, anyone who thinks otherwise must be blind. There are plenty of colors to choose from, why choose those exact ones? I'll tell you why, because they are QBC Members!

Alright if that is the case let jeff post if he is going to file a lawsuit or not, its his directory after all. Who are we to judge on behalf of someone else? To be frank if i was hosting that website, unless i got a complain from jeff, i would never remove the site or tell the owner that its duplicate. Domain uses Aviva though and if jeff has copyright to that he can probably use that for lawsuit, but final decision rests with jeff only. Wonder what happened to the email jeff sent, any response on that jeff?

PS: Dude the chick/girl is different, there is no flower at the bottom,it has different navigation and menu at top, it has totally different background, totally different header image, it has totally different category structure(as if that matters),there are lots of difference, and it cannot be called ultimate Rip or copy-for-copy in any sense, but thats just my viewpoint.

Like few said its not 100% copy and cannot be called rip at all.Those who say its a rip, i am assuming never really looked into the design indepth ? With design and working with templates only,can you say with some certainty if something is an exact rip or not. Pheonix , smub and others are actually correct it cannot be called a rip. I rest my case as if anyone cares

 

Your point of view is as worthy as any others, its thier problem if they don't agree. You made a good point though, it is Jeff's battle and if he really feels he's being ripped then he and only he can do anything about it. Al we can do is to cheer him on.

 

What is funny to me is that on the list of most reputable directory owners on DP there were members here voted into it while displaying directires copying the names of other web directories as well.
