No doubt about it but there are enough changes to claim its not a rip even if we all know it is, which would mean no action could be taken against this person, well no legal way anyway.

In fist place I just believed he was just a bit "overinspired", but now I think he stole what he could and masked it just enough nobody can say it is a rip.

 

i dont think its wrong for a site to look similar. the owner probably really likes avivas design and wants something similar for his own. nothing wrong with that...

It's definitely a rip/copy, I just try to give the benefit of the doubt to start.

 

nothing wrong you have to be dumb, so If you have a great website and I took your design and used it on my site you wouldnt give a rats ars?

The real point here is , the dude will never be like the aviva,........he will just fade away I am sure

 

first of all, he didnt take avivas design and duplicate it. having a vectorized girl on your directory. big deal. the layout isnt the same, the fonts arent the same.

i see for directorymix.com youre using a globe for your logo. im sure there are a bunch of logos with the use of a globe. are you ripping your logo idea off someone else? are you being completely original? probably not...

it just seems to me that alot of people on the DP boards jump on the aviva, alive bandwagon so much that anyone new to directory business that poses some type of minimal threat to the credibility of either of these sites gets flamed... dont you have better things to do thank spotlight someones supposed copycat design?

get off the guys back, i think its ok for someone to take design inspiration from another site and apply it. hell if i can have my site look like apple.com i would, and im sure you would too...

doesnt matter he uploaded it, if the owner doesnt think its an rip then he must be blind. So if I hired a designer and told him I want a design similar to a side you own, and the design came out and looked very very similar to it you wouldnt be pissed off?

 

you obviously hold a high standard for originality, why not apply this to your own work rather that judging other peoples? bit of hypocrisy no?
