Id say if you want to make money in UK market, sports betting is the place full of money and potential buyers
set your sites geo location in google webmaster tools to UK really depends what you are marketing and what you want advice about..
I don't believe there is any UK specific advice. Unless your site is targetting UK only then there really is no different way to promote and market. Do you mind telling us what your business is?
There is something called UK specific advice, but to benefit from it, you need to provie more info about your niche.
There's plenty of people on DP who are based in the UK and in my experience everyone is happy to offer advice, myself included. What do you need advice about?
I don't really have a niche yet as i am learn a bit from you guys first. I tried marketing a "money making how to guide" a year or so ago. Just picked a product from CB, and wrote some articles but in 2 month only made 2 sales, so i gave up. I must admit i didn't really know what i was doing. i am trying to learn all i can, but struggle to find a starting point. When i say UK specific, i mean with dealing with the income, like converting currency. Also the tax aspects. i know i haven't sold anything yet but i really want to hit this hard and make a decent income from it. So i want to be ready whenthe tax main comes knocking.
The product i was trying to sell before was ultimate wealth package which i don't think is running anymore, but it was quite popular with affiliate, so maybe i picked the wrong product, as it had so many other people marketing it too.
Firstly find consider any areas in which you have some specific knowledge, perhaps your current occupation, a previous occupation, education or a hobby. If you have a financial background then great, but don't try to make money from something you know nothing about, you'll soon be left out of your depth. Sure financial websites have the big headline grabbing commission rates and ad revenue, but you'll be competing with some big institutions such as banks, insurance companies and other well established advice sites like the excellent Money Saving Expert. As an example, if you have a hobby collecting stamps, find out if all aspects of stamp collecting are covered on the web and if not could this be your niche. I have enjoyed many holidays in Tenby, South Wales and realised that there was a lack of well thought-out websites regarding the town, so I set about building one. Unfortunately I don't have enough spare time to develop it more, but it is a steady ad revenue earner. Jon
Converting currency from $ to £? Well that's done automatically through banks when transferring money. In many cases you have a small charge for converting the currency. What else did you want to know about it? Tax aspects You'll want to check out the UK govt website and look up coorporation tax. Not sure what the income has to be to be taxed but it probably won't affect you for many months unless you REALLY have got something to sell.
This isn't really the best place to receive tax advice. Find your local tax office and get some advice. In general: You'll need to consider filling out a tax return to detail any income received from 5th April to 4th April the following year. There are some costs that can be offset against the income, but you're best to take professional advice if the amount earned is significant. The cost of an accountant can be offset against any earnings and they may end up saving you the cost of their fees in the long run. Speak to one sooner rather than later if you have any doubts.
