UK Postcode API

    Hi Guys,

    Anyone have a DB or API that I can have which will allow me to find an address based on a post code? Most of the post code lookups that I have found return lat and long which isnt what I want.

    e.g. search for SW1 7TU

    returns:
    Hingborn Road
    Battersea
    London

    Or something like that. I know royal mail provide but it costs way too much money!

    Quite simply, no.

    The PAF is owned and maintained by Royal Mail at significant cost and access to it will mean paying royalties. This year, following gov't consultation co-ordinate data was released for all postcodes, but not the actual address parts.

    I dont know if this is of any use to you.

    I have it. Not sure what to do with it yet though.

    Think I'm going to write a webservice and charge per month. £20 per IP up to 1000 a day.
