The site has only been setup since around August. However, in October we started to receive traffic that converted in to sales. The site was setup as a hobby for my girlfriend, I don't think she anticipated how many orders she would receive. Now she's telling me doesn't want to do it anymore (can't win!).

Currently the sales mostly come from seasonal sales such as Halloween & Xmas (I'm expecting large sales for Valentines day and especially Easter, and this is one of the reasons for the sale).

We started off only selling to the UK although we was receiving so many emails from around the world to distribute to them, so we changed the business model and started shipping abroad.

In November we had 3,899 unique visitors. We have some high profile links from http://mumsnet.com/ and an author also included us in a blog article on http://blog.uk.fab.com/dr-manu-halloween/. We're dmoz listed, and google have already given us sitelinks on searches.

We also have around 1,114 Facebook likes, we ran a competition and the likes come flooding in. They have even converted into sales.

The stock itself come from a cash and carry called Hancocks (http://www.hancocks.co.uk/cash-and-carry), they stock all our products including the American sweets/cereal. Another option would just to purchase stock from external websites like amazon/ebay and get stock deliveredw directly to customer (although returns wont be as much)

We had a markup on most of our products of around 50%. Some products such as 1d advent calendars we got for 60p and was selling for £3.99 + shipping (initially we was selling for £1.99).

Its a great business because we left flyers in party shops and was getting large orders outside of the site and we also offloaded excess stock on eBay.

Sites running on open cart using the fancycart theme (which it looks completely different from since its been customized). Its running a few plugins, seo, auto images and a caching plugin (we have a google speed of 91/100).

We also have a blog we update a few times a week.

We rank quite high for multiple keywords.

We ship all our orders just once a week, larger orders we arrange to be picked up by courier (some int orders we make a profit on shipping).

The main benefit for this business is you get to try the sweets :)
