I am trying to change a switch which was previously was a single (Controlling a fan, main light, and mirror light) to a double - One switch controlling the fan and mirror, the other the main light. I know quite a bit about US electrics but Im a little more cautious over here (Im in Ireland although I think the UK is identical). I personally think I need to put in a jumper from where the commons (brown) are currently to the other commons terminal but I want to see if someone else has experience with UK electrics before trying it. Attached is where I am now so I am hoping someone has a few suggestions. Only rules are: 1.) Please don't guess, If you don't know UK electrics but think you know because of some US parrallel, please say that 2.) Don't say get an electrician..Thats obvious but I have done a lot of simple wiring in the house and I like to try it myself So anyone have advice?
