What do you guys/girls do about dollar cheques coming into the UK? My bank is asking for £12 fee then a percentage on top! Getting costly to get these cheques sorted.

Well i think you should open a bank account in United states and then receive your cheques there and then you can withdraw your money thorugh a debit card which will be provided by the bank you open your account with.

If I joined a bank, I'd do it directly or I wouldn't. I'd rather pay the fees than have some one make the bank for me! Think of the security issues etc.

They should only be charging a fixed fee for depositing it, at least the service I get with HSBC business banking. I cant believe they are also taking a percentage of the cheque aswell.

Yeah, it sucks. Dollar accounts are priced over the roof as well!

Trying to get my AMs to send my checks in GBP.

Only tried one bank, but I know that all the banks have fees.

Might have to go with ICICI Bank as they allow dollar accounts! Thing is, they aren't too big here.
