    Not an UI - but it looks pretty cool and web 2.0-ish.

    I would change hover-effect in the menu. So instead of putting on an ugly background, I would simply change the color of the link (to e.g. orange). That would make it look slick.

    I would suggest remove the underline from the linked texts. Instead underline could appear while you hover on a linked text.

    I like the light yellow hovering effect on those top ads/cards

    nice design from my view, how if you add some hover for the menu (on top position), I think it will be more attractive
