Uh... What happened?

One of my cheats sites (www.vgcheats.co.uk) was getting about 1-2K hits a day and about 400-900 uniques. This was gradually increasing day by day. Virtually all traffic was from search engines... about 95% from Google.

Then suddenly for no apparent reason, a few days ago all traffic suddenly almost stopped. It went right down and the site is now only getting a few hundred hits a day... What i cant understand is why? I haven't done any spamming or other potentially dangerous search engine things as far as i know, so i don't quite understand why Google suddenly lowered my serp's...

Any ideas why? And what i could do to get it back up?

    Thanks!

where is the content coming from? obviously with a site like this duplicate content could be a huge issue

I didn't actually duplicate anything myself but i just remembered i use cheatsdatabase and a lot of other sites also use cheatsdatabase so maybe thats why?

I don't remember but quite a lot... go to the site, and at the bottom you will see loads of text links... those were most of the keywords.

    yes, that's almost definitely why.

just buying a database of content thousands of other sites use is not going to provide you with a very stable business.

Yes, if the content was duplicated then it could well have just been penalised. Try adding some uniue content to your pages, visitor comments, reviews etc.

Damn ok thanks for the tips. Its still pretty hard making a cheats site where you add the cheats manually one by one as there are so many games and cheats happening daily...
