i just talked to godaddy, they don't show any holds on the domain, and they said any complaints would have come to them first, then they would tell me.

There are probably thousands of .eu domains with dodgy registrant data. It seems that the only validation check that the software carries out is that the country field contains an EU country name. It is not unusual to see the whois data for .eu domains with US addresses along with zipcodes and some EU country in the country field.

Eurid put about 4000 domains on hold last week. Perhaps this was one of them. I'd be interested to find out if they did revoke it as most of the others that I've found seem to be still on hold.

Well, I would supposed that what is important would be not to falsify the registered address because sooner or later, it would catch up to you.

However, it appears that the OP was able to sign up with his non-EU address with the correct country and all and yet it went through. EURID may have a different policy back then or the registrar did not have the proper checks to detect that the country field is non-EU based.

Well, dodgy registration should be revoked no doubt about that.

Well I don't regard Eurid as being a competent operation. I don't know if they even have an automated deletion process. This is the same mob that launched a TLD registry without a working transfer function. Some of the other domains still seem to be on hold as well - no deletions.
