Of all the reasons there are to riot, being a little peeved about a cartoon is not one of them. If you think that a cartoon is "riot material" - then your standard of good behavior for muslims is already pretty low.

    Why should we?

Hitler was a devote Christian and his policies had full support of pope and Vatican.

    "The national government... will maintain
and defend the foundations on which the
power of our nation rests. It will offer
strong protection to Christianity as the
very basis of our collective morality."

"Today Christians... stand at the head of [our country].
I pledge that I will never tie myself to parties who want to destroy Christianity...
We want to fill our culture again
with the Christian spirit.... We want to burn
out all the recent immoral developments in
literature, in the theatre, and in the
press - in short, we want to burn out
the poison of immorality which has entered
into our whole life and culture as a result
of liberal excess during the past... few years."
    -Adolph Hitler
The Speeches of Adolph Hitler, 1922-1939, Vol. 1 (London, Oxford University Press, 1942), pg. 871-872

Vatican was the first government to recognize Hitler government. According to Vatican Ideology all Jews were guilty of killing Jesus until 1965 when Pope announced that they are forgiven.

The Catholic laity in Slovakia was taught by their clergy that the Nazis were doing the will of Jesus Christ in exterminating the Jews. In 1942 before Passover, Rabbi Michael Dov-Ber Weissmandel asked for help from a fellow clergy person and long-time acquaintance, Archbishop Kametko. Rabbi Weissmandel begged the archbishop to intervene with President Tisso, to prevent the expulsion of the Jewish population from Slovakia. Archbishop Kametko replied "This is no mere expulsion. There you will not die of hunger and pestilence; there they will slaughter you all, young and old, women and children, in one day. This is your punishment for the death of our Redeemer. There is only one hope for you, to convert to our religion. Then I shall effect the annulling of this decree." (See "Min Hamezar", in "Faith After the Holocaust", Eliezer Berkovits, Ktav, 1973, pp. 16-17.)

In fall 1945, Rabbi Michael Dov-Ber Weissmandel escaped from a deportation to Auschwitz. He approached the papal nuncio (Catholic papal delegate) for help in stopping the extermination of Slovakian Jews. The official response was "This, being a Sunday, is a holy day for us. Neither I nor Father Tisso occupy ourselves with profane matters on this day." Rabbi Weissmandel asked how the murder of innocent men and women, children and babies could be considered "profane" by Christians. The Catholic Archbishop replied, "There is no innocent blood of Jewish children in the world. All Jewish blood is guilty. You have to die. This is the punishment that has been awaiting you because of that sin [the death of Jesus]." (Eliezer Berkovits, Faith, pp. 16-17.)

Like the way you are with Christians and Jews? Even in a thread where violence is breaking out in many parts of the world today over silly cartoons, you ignore it, and continue right on your usual path of "purposefully trying to pick up a fight by being rude to people ideas and beliefs."

Whey you are arguing with some one, you always have to consider the level of intelligence and education that the other side have. There are many Muslims that will see this and will not react but when you aim that toward illiterate, poor groups then the whole purpose of the cartoon is not for debate but to start a riot.

It doesn't even need to be about any religion. For example imagine that you are sitting in a bar with your KKK friends and I approach you and in front of everyone announce that your mom or sister has a black boyfriend, I am sure I will get a good beating by you and your friends.

I believe it was for the role the Catholic church played in helping covering it up.

Dude, I'm jewish and ... anyways.

Isn't this the same thing that Iran president said and everybody was upset about it?

The problem is that Anti-Semitic is as strong in Europe and North America as among some Muslim groups. The only problems is that is no use for government to mention this and only concentrates on Muslim extremist. For example you can find much more anti-Semitic in Russia than any Arab country.
This kind of ideas are based on illiteracy and lack of knowledge and it is only with education that we can get rid of it.

Right! You want to know if they went to collage or not ;) Or you want to know if they've eaten their curds and Whey.

So day in and day out, you attack Christians and Jews, and when muslims go on a rampage around the world wreaking violence in France by torching the city, or other parts of the world as in recent/today, you ignore it, and continue right along the path of bashing Christians and Jews.

I see how it works now.

They were much more active than that and some priests actually participated in killings.

That is the reason that a Jew should not jump on the hatred bandwagon. The hate groups just now concentrate on Muslims because it is convenient and acceptable but it won't be long before they go back to their old enemy the Jews and that is the reason Jewish groups in USA condemn the violence against Muslims. I think the discussion between Nixon and Graham in 1972 describes the same situation as today:

"the tape of the February 1, 1972 conversation between Billy Graham and President Nixon was made public. On the tape, Graham is heard agreeing with Nixon that left-wing Jews dominate the news media, and accusing Jews of being pornographers. He said the Jewish stranglehold has got to be broken or the country's going down the drain" and went on, "A lot of the Jews are great friends of mine, they swarm around me and are friendly to me because they know that I'm friendly with Israel. But they don't know how I really feel about what they are doing to this country. And I have no power, no way to handle them, but I would stand up if under proper circumstances."

and as you know of the loonies of far right Pat Robertson claims to be friend of the Jews but these people can not help it and some times they say what they really think:

"The Antichrist is probably a Jew alive in Israel today."

And the moral of this example?...that the violence is commenced out of irrational thinking.

A true muslim is not going to let him/herself being manipulated into violence by a stupid drawing eventhough it is offensive.
A true muslim would only resort to violence if violence is being struck on him or her just like any other person that is not religious or muslim.

A true muslim stands above this attempt of parody.

The State Department criticized on Friday cartoon drawings in Europe of the Prophet Muhammad, calling them "offensive to the beliefs of Muslims."

While recognizing the importance of freedom of the press and expression, department press officer Janelle Hironimus said these rights must be coupled with press responsibility.

"Inciting religious or ethnic hatred in this manner is not acceptable," Hironimus said. "We call for tolerance and respect for all communities and for their religious beliefs and practices."

    U.S.: Muhammad Cartoon 'Offensive'

I suppose now you are going to claim the USA state department also hate Jews and is pro terrorists.

There's good and evil amongst all people. I don't see that as being anti-Jewish since Jesus was a jew as well ...

Nope, I was pointing out your hypocrisy with:

I pointed out how no matter what the headline is, you continue right along bashing Christians and Jews. In fact, after I pointed it out, you continued right along the same path. Apparently you cannot help yourself.

    Friend of yours?

It is nice to see the good in all people but believe me that outside the new found love for Israel among the neo-cons, there is not that many white republicans who want a Jew invited to their dinner party. ;)

I think people always need someone to hate...it is the beauty or curse of human nature.
I actually think Hitler didnt hate jews, he just knew that to unite a bunch of people you need a common enemy, and he happened to pick jews.

With white people right now its more concentrated on anti-liberals...with muslims its against capitalists and liberals.

Feels kind of silly especially as us buying oil has been funding the fundamentalists for the past 50 years...

Im more worried now than I was when I started this thread...

Hitler was a freak. What a piece of shit. But there are many other freaks in this world, and given power and opportunity, they can all do some major damage.
