Slavery (as it concerns African's) dates to the 1600's, and was started by none other than Europeans, not Americans. European land owners that occupied what was later to become the US, imported slaves to this country by way of the Spanish. In fact, the transportation of slaves to Spanish and Portuguese colonies in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central and South America is pretty much where it started. There is no "WE" here. What about the dress code as a religous symbol. They run around like, women as ninjas and men like clowns, nobody blames them, but if you go to one of the islam countries, your son or daughter wears a little cross, they have to take it off. Argh... I'm done with the "political/religious" debate/argument threads (at least for a while). It's obvious none of us are changing each others minds about anything, it's all ending in the same trash talk and getting no where. Even though I think it's fun to debate (and often inspires me to research) it's taking up way to much of my daily time when I should be working. People make fun of Christians all the time, every Simpsons episode, every where you go there is some sort of reference to Chridtianity and always poking fun. When you do the same thing about Islam, it becomes a big offense. That's a double standard. Why exactly is that, that you can make fun of one group, but not another. One is "just humor", the other is being politically incorrect.
