Yeah, you have to allow for inflation during these troubling times. I believe it's 80 virgins now.

It's not our problem they are stuck in the dark ages.
All they are doing with these riots and killing is bringing their own name down even more because of some sily cartoons...

IT's true people who are too religious get corrupted easily, they start getting mixed messages and twisting it to their own ideas.

But the real purpose of religion (Islam, Judaism (spelling?), Christianity, and the REST) is to be good in life, to help others, to teach people laws that were never known before. To stop crime, chaos, and evil, and now people are trying to twist it around justifying their crimes chaos and evils, which is just wrong. They look at religious text and think, oh no then i must kill all blablabla's, but problem is if they know it's wrong, they should know that they have misinterpretted it. Never in any Religious book does it say to kill the innocent.

No doubt! Can you imagine the playing of "Broke Back Mountain" in the Middle East? There's times where no matter how you portray it, they just don't get it.

They dont care... The people that burn stuff down and kill people have nothing, and have already lost hope. They know they are going to get arrested or even killed (like in afghanistan, police shot rioters), but they do it anyway, why??? They have no hope anymore. No one is stuck in the dark age.
They may be stuck being poor, and uneducated, but thats the country to blame not the religion.

They do not represent muslims or anyone else. Each person represents himself. And people just associate groups as what some actions are done. The cartoons are not silly to them. You lack the perception to understand what it means. If you had read my thread, you would have understood. No muslim will ever make a cartoon of jesus or moses, they expect a mutual respect. Although their reaction is WRONG and criminal, so is the cartoonists.

They do not represent anyone but terrorists, so please do not associate them with Islam. That is the problem I am having. I am shocked to find so many of my fellow citizens make this association, they must teach us nothing in schools.

Again you are implying that all middle easterns hate gays. When in reality there are a lot of Gays in Saudi Arabia due to "All-male" schools.

So then why do we go into Iraq which is actually a less religious state rather than Saudi Arabia. Ooops i forgot we were addicted to oil... Nevermind. They are socially behind... Not the middle east.
Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Syria, Iran, Iraq, and Armenia. (Maybe lebanon?)
Saudi Arabia is catching up tho, can't blame them too much.

None of the other countries there are too behind.

yeah but those are undercover homos, supposedly a bunch of the taliban are gay too

Iraq was supposed to be one of the most advanced, at least socially of the middle eastern countries. Woman had more rights in Iraq then in most countries.

If you asked me, I'd tell you the real purpose of religion is 2 things:
    1) a tool to use people
    2) a tool to keep people from being scared

Take it or leave it.. but it's true. That's all any religion does. Sure there are side effects.. good and bad...

That's not just the country to blame... thats humans to blame. I'm not going to go over world history - but anyone who reads it knows humans have never acted civilized and fairly to each other (even in america) and most likely never will. It just seems to be in our nature, there will always be discrimination, racism, hatred, etc.

Baiting me a again are we little child...

Ok, I'll bite. I've been to NYC every single year for 35 years now. My grandmother worked in the WTC for 15 years, prior to that she worked in the Empire State Building. All my family on my mother's side is from the East coast. My mom is from the Bronx. My cousins work for customs in WTC, 4 or 7, I really cannnot remember which, or should I say "worked". I have another cousin that drives the trains. His first stop of the morning was WTC North on 9/11. He was asked to stop one station prior where he calmed passengers as they remain trapped for 4 hours underground. My cousins in the WTC ran out amidst a shower of body parts, rubble and paper as the second plane hit that day.

I've been on top of one of them as a kid and an adult. Been in most every part of the entire complex througout the years given the family connections.

What else do you want numb nuts? My mother's maiden name. What difference does it make whether I have been there or not? You can bait me all day long, but remember, all you are doing is making an ass out of yourself.

BTW, here is an article written up on me, and my companies efforts that day: http://www.internetnews.com/xSP/article.php/8_882231

Most of the nation was still using dialup back then and the phone lines were jammed. At the end of the day thousands of ISP's across the nation had asked their users to get off the net so people could call NYC and elsewhere to find out if their loved ones were OK.

Take a gander at some communications on one of the ISP lists I was on at the time: http://isp-lists.isp-planet.com/isp-webhosting/0109/msg00310.html

Have fun wondering through the cronology of events.

Now please, just go away... No one is listening to you.

Hint of what? There was no "hint", either implied, or specifically stated.
Sure you can. You might get your ass kicked, but that is about it. You can do it all day long. In fact, if I wanted to I could flip off a cop right to his face. So long as I do not touch him, or do so in a threatening mannor, or, do not assault him, there is NOTHING he can do.

Yes, you can flip off a cop in this country. It is protected under the first amendment.
You need to take a course in constitutional law, that or subscribe to "PlayBoy". Either one will show you tons of case law and precident that contradicts your own interpretation of reality.

What exactly does that have to do with anything? I just happen to actually like watching CNN... I visit their web site every day. It's just about the most organized I guess. Personal preference I guess we will call it. I'm not singling them out. I just did not feel like making a generalization. Doing so someone might invit someone to call me a racist again.

I found no need to lob one news source in with all of them. But again, who the hell cares? What does it matter... Hell saying CNN pretty much is a generalization, is it not? YEP!!!

As usual, wtf is your point? I could care less. I just call them scumbags. So what.

Ok then... How about "SCUMBAGS". Sound better? Who cares....

Really? By George (no pun here folks) I think he's got it! If they actually showed the progress being made that would mean having to admit that GWB made the right decision. That would mean they would have to admit that the war on terror is working. Now you know the media better than that. Come one man... Like I said, it looks like you got it here!

Way to go, I am so proud of you!!! Remember, liberals want things to look bad. If they look good, they may never get a chance at playing with the little red button again.

    I'm not arguing....

I'm saying you are comparing apples to oranges... That's about all I have on the subject. It's pretty much a non-issue.

See above. (you might have to re-read it a couple times)...

Ah, ok.... Have another one... burp

Ok, so you posted that "2 days ago" then? Let's see some of those 6 month old poll numbers.. Where's my little buddy AC when you need him.

Well, I am not Muslim, so it is impossible for me to see it 100% from their side. There is no way anyone who does not, or cannot where another's shoes could ever see it from their side. All they can do is try to understand what they are seeing. Same goes for them.

So, no, I do try to look at it from the other point of view. Key word being "try".

Not in their minds... I never labeled them that way, nor did the media. They labeled themselves that way. Talk to them about the name change.

No, that is not what the cartoons were doing. I think Bama explained full well what the cartoon is intended to do. He hit the nail on the head, and has probably on of the best, most well thought out explanations on the subject I have seen.

    ?

I pretty much follow the letter of the law of the country I am in at the time. When I am overseas, I attempt to act as I would at home, while also attempting to respect the laws of the host nation I am in. While I am here, I am free to exercise my 1st Amendment right all day long.

I'm really not sure what you are trying to say here. Actually I am fairly confident you do not know what you are trying to say here either.

The cartoon was fine. It was satire, it was funny, the point it made is unmistakeable. It is neither offensive or wrong. It's just that... A cartoon. It was published several months ago, and NO ONE gave a shit. Now they do, all of a sudden. The revolt and outrage is staged, pure and simple.

Wooooooo, wait just a minute. We? Who is the we? You are saying that the US is supposed to be making peace with extremists? You are saying that we accomplish that by doing everything we can to placate and appease them?

See, this is the problem with the looney left. They still think that if we play nice with the poisoness snake, it won't bite us.

I guess I have to go into the joke then so you understand.

A women found a snake that had gotten hurt. Being the kind complacent, placating type, lefty liberal soy eating nut ball she was....., she took the little snake home and began nursing it back to health. One day the snake recovered fully and the women picked up the snake to take it back outside to release it into the wild. The snake bit the women. As she lie there dieing and and gasping her last breaths she asked the snake, "why, oh why would you do such a thing after all I did for you?" the snake replied; "you knew I was a snake bitch!"

We are at war. The objective in this war is not to make nice with extremists. It is to erradicate them and the nations that harbor them. That's what it is all about.

Sheesh... I cannnot remember when I had this big a laugh at someone else's expense.

New flash there ding dong, we are not making enemies by publishing cartoons, these people are already our enemies.

It amazes me that some people actually think this way.

Anyway, no one in the US is doing this, so I am not sure who this is directed at or why. Who is this "we" you keep referring to.

Probably the same morons out there screaming death to America and Jews over this cartoon. America did not produce the cartoon, nor did the Jews.

It's all staged anyway. Just another excuse to hate.

I guess I agree with you to an extent.. I mean after all, there are some people in this country that pick up cartoons depicting our President as Hitler, and actually believe it.

That's just as wrong... But we apparently still have a right to do it. So much so, that an actual sitting senator (Ted I killed a women Kennedy) actually called our president a Nazi.

You take the good with the bad in a free society. Ultimately this whole cartoon thing is bull shit. No one cared 3 months ago... Why do they care now. Did it take 3 months for Muslim translators to decrypt the message in the illustration? WTF? What gives... It's all staged.

Talk about ignorant. Are you trying to say that an "All-male" school somehow made someone gay? Generally people who are gay were already gay. So if you sent these gays to an all-female school would they become women, lesbians? What about co-ed? Would that make them heterosexual again?

    You are one funny guy!
