So we're going to go back to the beginning of time and return all the land to any group of people that's ever had it taken away? ... no of course not.. we're just going to do it to the palestinians because they have a smaller army and because the europeans don't want the jews in their countries. FROM JEWS FOR JUSTICE: http://www.cactus48.com/earlyhistory.html
Gandhi on the Palestine conflict - 1938 "Palestine belongs to the Arabs in the same sense that England belongs to the English or France to the French...What is going on in Palestine today cannot be justified by any moral code of conduct...If they [the Jews] must look to the Palestine of geography as their national home, it is wrong to enter it under the shadow of the British gun. A religious act cannot be performed with the aid of the bayonet or the bomb. They can settle in Palestine only by the goodwill of the Arabs... As it is, they are co-sharers with the British in despoiling a people who have done no wrong to them. I am not defending the Arab excesses. I wish they had chosen the way of non-violence in resisting what they rightly regard as an unacceptable encroachment upon their country. But according to the accepted canons of right and wrong, nothing can be said against the Arab resistance in the face of overwhelming odds." Mahatma Gandhi, quoted in "A Land of Two Peoples" ed. Mendes-Flohr.
We hear lots about Palestinian terrorism. How about the Israeli record? "The record of Israeli terrorism goes back to the origins of the state - indeed, long before - including the massacre of 250 civilians and brutal expulsion of seventy thousand others from Lydda and Ramle in July 1948; the massacre of hundreds of others at the undefended village of Doueimah near Hebron in October 1948;...the slaughters in Quibya, Kafr Kassem, and a string of other assassinated villages; the expulsion of thousands of Bedouins from the demilitarized zones shortly after the 1948 war and thousands more from northeastern Sinai in the early 1970's, their villages destroyed, to open the region for Jewish settlement; and on, and on." Noam Chomsky, "Blaming The Victims," ed. Said and Hitchens. The U.S. Government and media bias on terrorism in the Middle East "It is simply extraordinary and without precedent that Israel's history, its record - from the fact that it..is a state built on conquest, that it has invaded surrounding countries, bombed and destroyed at will, to the fact that it currently occupies Lebanese, Syrian, and Palestinian territory against international law - is simply never cited, never subjected to scrutiny in the U.S. media or in official discourse...never addressed as playing any role at all in provoking 'Islamic terror.'" Edward Said in "The Progressive." May 30, 1996.
Actually, "we're" not going to do anything. It's not our place to give their land back to anyone. The United Nations recognized them as a state and divided land equally. We, as in the USA, are not part of the equation, unless you are attempting to rewrite history: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel Again, "we're" not going to do anything. Not sure were you are getting the "we're" part from. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_of_Israel
Yet WE (american taxpayers) are directly helping them by sending them millions of dollars every year. oh, oh.. I was unaware that the United Nations ruled the world, and could just "divide up" people's countries as they saw fit! It all makes sense now!! ...divided it equally huh? They gave 50% of the land to 10% of the current population... sounds equal to me. Then after the war the Jews went ahead and took another 26% of the land... meaning they've currently stolen and occupied 76% of Palestine. Every dollar WE (as in the USA) send to them makes us part of the equation.
Remember GTech, give love a chance man.... John Lennon Shakira loves you too GTech, she is half Lebanese Do you love her GTech? She is a Christian Lebanese girl, not Muslim Can you let her live
We also provide money and aid to the Palestinians, Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan, Columbia, Pakistan, Jordan, Liberia, Perus, Ethiopia, Bolivia, Turkey, Uganda, Sudan, Indonesia, Kenya and a number of other countries. You can take that up with the UN. My point was, the "we're" part of your statement was completely wrong. But it isn't the first time you've tried to give someone else's credit to the US, is it? You must have missed the part where six armies attacked Israel. Spoils of war? Yet Israel has given back lands captured when IT was attacked. They've stolen nothing. They declared their state, they were attacked, they fought back, they won. No, it doesn't. See countries above and feel free to post history that shows the US "helped steal 'their' lands."
According to your sourced site we provide Israel with over $7,000,000/day. That doesn't touch what we give the Palestinians. Umm.. maybe you forgot WE'RE (the US) part of the UN. And we also voted in favor of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1947_UN_Partition_Plan the partition plan. With British help they forceably stole palestinians land, forced them to leave, massacred them and then stole 26% more of the land (and haven't given it back either). The entire Arab world disagrees and hates Israel because THEY STOLE IT.
Israel doesn't oft call for our destruction. Palestinians are not interested in peace. I suspect if they were, aid would be far more reaching. And I didn't provide a sourced site with the countries listed. Not at all, but I'd prefer to individualize it and say "I'm" the US part, as you don't leave an impression that you care about our country, except to self-loathe about it. Maybe you forgot, that we are not the UN, but a small part of it. From the source: And thus, a vote was called, and the US voted on the resolution, along with 32 other countries. Incorrect. The UN voted, as clearly outlined above, to take action as Britain was pulling out. The land was to be split. Israel declared it's statehood. They were attacked by six armies. They fought back, they won. Arabs were hating Jews long before Israel reclaimed it's land from those that took it from them.
Do you think the United States would be interested in peace if Arabs immigrated over, then the UN decided to give them 50% of our country? Do you think the United States would be interested in peace then? Do you think this newly formed "Arab State" would have the "right to exist"? I know you'll avoid the question (the same way politicains avoid any real questions in debates) and not give a real answer... but we both know the truth.
We're not under British mandate, Britain is not pulling out from the US and there is not civil unrest. There would have to be a need. Need and desire are two different things. What's to avoid, it wouldn't ever happen. Maybe this is why you support Iran having a nuclear weapon? Did you have a bad experience with Jews, or do you fall into one of those groups that seem to be attracted to Alison Weir?
Carlsberg is the brand By the way King Herod was also called the king of beer, this is even mentioned in the scriptures.
Hi I'm carmella, I don't want to change the subject back to the actual TOPIC p) But... Last night I stayed at my friends house, she lives in a small town - we went shopping there this morning and some people had graffitied all the windows of a shopping mall with the danish flag and the words ''BOYCOT'' there must have been 100 flags done and each one had the word ''boycot'' written next to it. There are alot of muslims living in Holland, but somehow I get the feeling that they are not the ones that did this. It would not suprise me if it was a couple of Dutch idiots shxt stirring because they hate the Turks and Moroccans living here. The police were going nuts and even filmed all the damage. Ok, y'all can get back on with your debate...
Yeah it couldn't possibly have been Muslims! This whole thing seems crazy. I'm hoping to high heaven that Europe doesn't further give up its freedom of speech. This is the freakiest pic I've seen of the protesting yet: Yes, I know this is not even close to what the majority of the muslim world feels, but still; Talk like that ANGERS me. There's anger EVERYWHERE!
YIKES... I'm glad I was gone for a couple days. And to think Gworld has tried to imply I am racist... Again, YIKES... Me thinks this thread is near death.
Please let me know what else I can buy in the US that is Danish? We're here for you! I did think about eating a Danish this morning, but I am not sure that counts. I'll be getting some Carlsberg tonight if they have it! If not, I will make sure they get it!!! Keep up the good fight. It is ironic that the same people in the US that want to run around making cartoons of our president, seem to think there is something wrong with the Muhamad cartoon.... Ironic, don't ya think?
On the news tonight in The Netherlands it was mentioned that a or all Iranian newspaper(s) is (not sure about that) going to hold a contest for making a cartoon to mock the holocaust. Making fun of belief that is not real...you have to believe in a God to accept it for real, in contrast to Real historical facts that truly happend and that was one of the most horrific tragedies that the world have ever endured. Logical hey?
