39 clicks out of 56 impressions seems awfully high. (This is how it was when i woke up this morning.) Think this will trigger something? get me kicked? Should I ask google about it? Can I tell who is clicking, perhaps I should block them. I mean, I suppose it could be a fluke, but it's an awful lot of clicks. Any suggestions?
I suggest you should immediately email google about this, showing your concern over what has happened in your account.
I think the same way... its a very very high CTR, and this fluke might only happen when you have your ads popping up when user is trying to do any action on ur site... how come such a high CTR for 36 clicks...
I think you should wait.. Clicks ususally register before impressions. Give your impressions a chance to catch up. If it is still out of whack later, then let them know.
There's no ads popping up or anything. I think I'll wait till like noon, see if it evens out. Thanks for the advice. After all the cancellations, I'm all paranoid now that Google will give me the boot, keep the money I have earned, and not respond to me... grrr.
Better wait for few more hours and see how the stat changes with few more impressions. It is normal sometimes to see uneven in first half hour of the day. If you see nothing change then contact G.
I have a blog that sometimes has CTR more than 80% (in a day) with very small page impression (less than 40), but I don't pay special attention (like send email to G). My account still up till now!
Well, what can we say veedee, just keep your finger crossed, you might soon get a email from google. 32 clicks from 40 page impressions is just not possible through fair means. PS - What is your average CTR and Have you ever got a check from google?
seodelhi, 39 clicks from 56 impressions most certainly is possible. I've had sites that have achieved higher CTR than that at certain times during the day - never regularly though. If it is truely a one off, then I wouldn't worry. If you're really worried, then email G and let them know that you think the activity is suspicious. It's certainly not unknown for the clicks to be way ahead of the impressions (as reported on the adsense site). Often when this happens, it can take a couple of hours for the stats to sort themselves out. I've seen my reports show 30 clicks from 20 impressions in the past - 1 hour later they show 30 clicks from 500 impressions. By all means email G - it won't do any harm. It never does any harm to email them if you suspect susicious behaviour.
Is there a CTR threshold over which Google will investigate you? I have a page with a 40% CTR over 3,000 page views. However, I wanted to increased the CTR, and have tried to do this by taking taking off the Commision Junction adverts. Please note that I have asked Google to look at the page and that they've said it's fine. Good luck, fcmisc P.S. Will I get negative feedback for posting this?
he says he is getting 80% CTR in 40 impressions that makes it 32 clicks in 40 impressions if my maths is right.
fcmisc - if you ask for red then I'm sure someone will oblige. seodelhi, you maths are correct, I was going from what was posted in the very first post (which is just short of 70% CTR). Which is still exceedingly high if it's not just a one off.
I think you should over-react: 1. Email google about your concern 2. Stand outside google HQ with a bull horn and let them know how concerned you really are. 3. Repeat On second thought, you might just try dressing up in a chicken suit and scream "the sky is falling". How many more "should I email google" threads are we going to have to endure?
Did you check your site stats to see where the visitors are coming from? Something similar happened to me over the weekend. I had 17 impressions and 14 clicks on one site. I got very, very nervous, but when I checked the site stats, there was no pattern to the visitors at all. They came from all over the place and at all different times of the day, so it didn't give me much to go on to think it was click-fraud.
Well, what can I say, that's real! My average CTR for that blog is around 30%, while overall my site (8 blogs and 1 paid hosting site) is around 10%. While you asked that average CTR, I also noticed that MY OTHER blog (not that blog I wrote above). Has even reach 100% CTR at early this August, but just from less than 10 page impression (unfortunately earning that day is only <$0.5). And Yes, it's my 10th month as publisher, I have cleared about $700 (2 month hold check - my second check) and tomorrow I will clear another $1900 (4 month hold check, arrived this morning). But I could not clear my first check ($168) because my bank's policy could not clear check less than $500.
Your bank wont take a check less that 500 bucks??!?!?!?!?! OMFG GET A NEW BANK, that is quite stupid.!
I already got new bank, but .. (another stupid policy I think) I must have been registered 6 month to be able to clear a foreign check. I guess on November I'll be able to clear my first check.
