Sweeet, ya, that ufo stuff makes alot of $ green for some people. Of course, I don't make a cent, so if I see a ufo im shootin it down! lol j/k Or better yet, if I see an alien, I'll probably tie it up, til the news come, and woohoo free publicitee!
It makes me wonder, why so many people get scared about aliens coming to earth, when many peoples idea of an alien is a "little Green Ankle chopper" oh, oh, right, I forgot, with a INTENSELY POWER RAY GUN lmao
Incomplete option list. Big and pitiful? Small and chubby? Chubby and pitiful? Chubby and pitiless? ... etc., etc.
UFO shows rock, UFO's rock also. I have seen one and well.. I took it like any girl would.. I ran away into my house and looked at it out my window.. I set up a webcam on my window and have caught a few things, but soon took the cam down after I was awake and there was something on my monitor.. (sorry don't have the images anymore).. But yeah I think UFO's are alien..and I like reading/hearing about them.
Ok Soapbath, that's just really creepy. I will say however, that I myself have had an 'experience'. Although, I can't decide if it was real or not. One night a few years ago in the summer time, I went to bed, but for the first time in my life, I don't remember actually falling asleep. Then, I remember being outside my house, staring up into the sky. I can picture a faint light in the sky, but it was definitely bigger and brighter than the rest of the stars. I also remember it being a very clear night. In fact, everything seemed really detailed to me. That's why I can't believe it was a dream. My dreams are all the same - vague and totally surreal. Have you ever dreamed that you were trying to run away from something, but you were moving like you were underwater? Or if you were in a fight and you were punching as hard as you could, but it was just a tap? Anyway, this 'dream' was so real to me. I remember the sounds of the leaves blowing in the wind, and the sound of my feet on the cement. I even remember there being a smell - like fresh air just after a rain. I know this sounds super corny, but it's just how I remember it. I know nobody will believe it either, but I don't care. It probably was just a dream anyway, but it's one like I've never had before, and haven't had since. The end
But vivid dreaming is a fairly common occurrence. One of the principles of scientific reasoning is that the simplest explanation is more often than not the correct one -- thus one does not investigate a more comlplicated explanation for an experience or event unless there is reason to rule out the more simple one. The problem is that the simpler explanations also tend to be more boring... thus, human beings are attracted to the more exciting and exotic ones, even when they aren't necessary.
Ooooh, very enlightening. So simple, yet...I never thought of that. It's just weird that it was the only vivid dream I've ever had. And I dream at least twice each night.
You probably have a lot more than 2 dreams a night, but you won't remember most of them. The really vivid, or disturbing, or weird, or frightening dreams are the ones you will remember. Most of what happens in dreams is your brain consolidating and sorting/filing memories: Data taken from recent experiences are sorted, meaning is extracted from them, and then they are compared with older memories stored in long term memory. It's sort of like taking a new piece of paper and trying to figure out where to file it. Your brain opens a file drawer and grabs a file, looks at the contents, and compares the new memory with those in the file -- are they related? do they match? no? okay... go on to the next file, or the next file drawer, or the next filing cabinet. That's why dreams often seem so bizarre - because they contain such strange and improbable juxtapositions of images, sensations, and memories.
Thank you Minstrel Freud. And hey - juxtoposition...good word. Not too many people I know even know what it means. Do you believe in those 'What do your dreams mean?' books? I bought one a long time ago, but it was all crap in my opinion.
I think most of those books are crap too I'm not trying to say that dreams NEVER mean anything... just that most of the time they are just dreams, no more, no less. The most interesting thing about dreams is how we react to them...
I used to keep a dream diary, cause I used to have some pretty damn interesting ones. Actually, I remember a dream I had before I turned one. I know that because I was still in my crib, and my mom said she took me out when I turned one year old. But hey, wasn't this thread originally about ufo's? And now we're talking about dreams?
heh heh ,seen it I remember a vid like that from 1999. Man, I wish I could allow you guys to download some of the vids I've got, but then it'd suddenly be considered breaking the law, passing around vids which someone might claim to be copyrighted, lol.
whoa, freaky. I remember, here in usa, we showed a video about some people living out their lives as some senior teen was video taping everything. Lights inside the house blacked out, went back on, and people started to freak out, and look all weird. Then they went to check the power box, and they saw it all burnt up. Then they thought they heard something outside,(looked like a farm house to my knowledge) from there, they walked a little, and spotted a big object, they believed to be a ufo, and they zoomed in and it had alien looking creatures inside the u.f.o. which was on ground floor. They saw some aliens come out of it, and they tried to zoom in on it, but then paniced after getting a little view of it, and ran for the hills! After that, they relized, they lost one of their friends or family members. then the camera dude went inside the house, and they locked the doors, all in all, to finish the story I'll skip to the end, the camera dude was in his room upstairs, with it locked, (the lights were still off, he only had the light from the camera itself, and possible a flash light) as he continues to breath heavily, an image starts to appear inside the room, like a gray image of a person with extra long arms, and big hands. It got closer to the camera guy, and then it touched the camera, and the dude passed out. *I'm not sure if the video could be real, I'm really leaning towards calling it a hoax, though the weird thing is everyone on the video disappeared, and they didn't know where they were, not even the camera guy. Did they go on vacation? Maybe, dunno. haha, I know they didn't make any money off of it, only fox did, lol. So, the news didn't really talk much about the vid, and it was forgotten. The video does remind me alot of the Blair witch project. Though of course, we all know that was a fake. Anyhow, I wish I had the full copy of the video, so I could freak out my friends and all.
