Of course Windows is very easy to use but you have to pay for it. :) Ubuntu is also getting easy with the time. I always suggest my friends who use windows to test Ubuntu with dual operating system.

Window is easier because most of software developer support Window OS since the Window already popular worldwide that is easy way to make money by support Window OS. But my personal opinion is Linux has great OS very fast, secure and less maintenance.

Windows allows more programs to operate and is better for designing and graphics but if your into the coding and server management, Linux is the way to go!

ubuntu is a nice version of linux OS. But why chose Microsoft? Maybe, microsoft operating system is what the academe is using and teaching to its students. I hope someday unbuntu and other open source will rule!

i like very much all the ubuntu distros (my favourite is kubuntu) but i have to say i'm an heavy windows user. I was satisfied only by win98,win2000,xp Seven, all the others Microsoft OS were crap. I'm using seven and i think that works great for every one so unless you don't need specific feature from linux i suggest it. Of course linux is better for the amoun of open source quality resources, it lighter than windows (every windows), and with compiz you can do a lot of beatiful desktop fx :)))

Alexa and Google toolbars are made for browsers not OS. As long as you are using firefox you can have them. You are not going to find anything faster and safer than Linux. My win 7 takes 27 second to load which sucks, but Ubuntu loads in 11 seconds. People who bad mouth about Linux actually don't know the spirit of it. How much should you expect when they are giving you such an amazing thing for free? Whereas there are companied like MS ripping people off.
