I was try to sue Ubuntu in my desk few month ago. Ubuntu OS is really good! But problems are while I'm going to use applications. Even I could not connect my pc to net. Because my modem do not support Ubuntu.

I can say Ubuntu (Linux OS) are best for servers but it is not yet for normal users. Mac or Windows is best for normal users.

ubuntu and other distros are is user friendly too, yeah, windows is easy but it's mostly because we're used to it. in fact windows is very complicated in some areas , even illogical sometimes not to talk about lack of flexibility!

Windows is better for applications. Remeber Linux is better off for Web Hosting not heavy tasking and multitasking.

Ubuntu is great for browsing the web. Other than that I don't like it. The only trouble with that is flash doesn't install well.

    It's user friendly too
I suggest you to try yourself to get an idea

Ubuntu all the way! But of course there are other good distros out there as well...
Such as Mint, Fedora, Arch, etc, etc. I especially recommend Mint for users
    new to Linux.

And now the latest version of Ubuntu (11.10) is coming in a few days... Yay!

On a side note: Fedora is great for your desktop computer, but don't you agree that it isn't the
best choice for a server distro?
