chuckle.... I think you do care. I think you wish the article is true. I think that you are so afraid of the poor conclusions drawn by the article that you won't even DARE, won't even DREAM of trying to prove the article, will you?

I think this discussion frightens you and browntwn because the premise of the article is such a pathetically lost cause that even attempting to defend it frightens you.

And, I think it's obvious that neither of you will ever attempt to defend that article. Can I take that as a concession?

There is NOT a major initiative to covert thousands of Iraqi citizens to Christianity

I actually hope the article is not true as I see the danger and the repercussions the US would face if it was.

Why do I need to try to prove the article? I could fabricate something out of thin air like you to try to prove it ;) Call it a fact and leave out that it's just my guess..

You've got to be kidding me.

Stating what my religion is compared to you stating something as a fact when in fact it was not a fact then coming on well AFTER to state you got confirmation of an actual fact with no proof.

Yeah, wow you got me there.

To put it politely, my original issue with the article was that it based it's conclusions on the sources cited. But, when you look at the sources cited, they do not back up the article's claims. The sources claim that the troops are comforting themselves with Christianity - and there is ONE Chaplin that talks to Iraqis about Christianity but ONLY if he is asked about the cross on his lapel. That's no surprise to me - I find that intelligent people are sincerely interested in other's beliefs)

The article is an "outrage" piece. To put it succinctly, it is a piece of manipulation. You read the article, you feel outrage - no, you feel RIGHTEOUS OUTRAGE, which makes you feel good about yourself. 'browntwn' is an excellent example - he is the typical target of such a piece and his anger is fascinating although predictable. He is emotionally invested in the righteousness the article is meant to convey - and his anger has overcome his reason.

The righteousness becomes more important than actual facts, and the facts become irrelevant, which is the basis of any good propaganda.

Yet you yourself used a guess as a 'fact' and did not state it was only a guess.

You do not see why some would have a problem with that?

"Iraq (MNN) ― United States President George W. Bush continues to stay the course on Iraq, pledging to pull out of the county as soon as the country's security force is ready to do battle. As insurgents continue their assault on innocent Iraqis and others, Christians are waging a war of their own. Their war is a spiritual one, though.

    ...

Bible Pathway Ministries Ken Sharp says they're assisting in that battle in different ways. "We're continuing to do Arabic shortwave radio broadcasts into Iraq (and) by sending Arabic Bibles and Arabic Bible Pathways."

    ...

Your gift of $10 can put an Arabic Bible into hands of an Iraqi. Pray that as they're shipped across the board that they'll be safe and reach their destination."

P.S. I will post the reply I get to my inquiry about the Best of Bible Pathway ~ II Military Edition. I will post a full image showing the entire email reply.

Well Ken sharp can start by broadcasting all of the truth. namely that this war was foght on a lie and this lie has cost the lives of over 4000 american soldiers and many many more iraqis. This is how he can prove that hes a true christian;). Lets see if he does that. My guess is a big fat NOOOOOOOOOOOO. there would be no insurgents if the bush administration and the MIC never lied to get us into iraq in the first place.

I wonder if god is telling GW to stay the course:confused:

Hey ken if we donate 10 bucks, will u expose why our soldiers are in iraq? heck if he does that i would donate a bunch more and i gather so would many other dp'ers here who love the truth and honor it. Show us your christianity please ken.

Has the current US government ever done the right thing? If these guys vote for the republicans again, I can't even imagine what'll happen.

It seems that Bush did not hear from God again since long, I think since the beginning of war.

That's a good cite. But it's important to note that this article doesn't tell us that this is a military initiative. By reading the article, it appears to be a CIVILIAN effort, and it isn't backed by the military.

If browntwn will admit that there is no military initiative for conversion, I'll stipulate that a civilian effort to expose Iraqis to Christianity appears to exist.:)

    It's more frightening than that.

From the beginning, Bush was getting advice from military advisors that he wasn't sending enough troops to Iraq. He initially sent "around 140 thousand".

In Revelations, it mentions that there is a last battle fought by "144 thousand".

    YOIKS!

The Bible is a wonderful book for learning personal morality. But it isn't meant to dictate tactics.

I think that if God spoke to Bush, he'd say "Don't blame Me for this mess - you were really talking to yourself all along".

Come on Forcing Christianity on Iraqis?
    Give me a break.

For me it would be the same as believing Bush was a genious, or America destroyed her own towers.

If Bush bombed Iraq with the New Testament, he surely wouldn't be punished by God.;)
(Now the Iraqi Karma is being paid for by America, and sooner or later those who are directly responsible for the great sufferings it brought to millions of people around the world will bare their responsibilities.)
