And there was me thing you would say "yea he's been in about 11" like it's a big deal.

You seem to have a short memory, and tedious arguments. Are you frightened? or you just hate Obama? (LOL)

    What exactly is Obama dismantling?

Do you not remember terrorist attacks and attempted attacks after Sept 11th 2001? Here's some:

Anthrax Attack there were 2 killed, and 10 hurt (September 18th, 2001)

Anthrax Attack there were 3 killed and 7 hurt (October 9th, 2001)

Jewish Defense League (terrorists) plot to blow up the King Fahd Mosque in Culver City, California, it was foiled thanks to Bush:) (Dec 2001)

Shoe Bomber Richard Reid, attempting to blow up American Airlines Flight 63, he was stopped with no credit to Bush, passengers and flight crew sorted this one (December 2001)

Egyptian gunman opens fire at an El Al ticket counter in Los Angeles airport there were 3 killed (July 4, 2002)

D.C. Sniper Attacks there were 10 killed.

Bombing of Mosque in Cincinati OH no killed or hurt, (December 2005) probably the Jewish Terrorist League finishing off what they failed to do in 2001.

So loose with the term "Terrorist" these days. Next youll be calling the death of Tupac Shakur a terrorist attack. Gang violence in Los Angeles? Mall shootings? Columbine? Unibomber? Zodiac Killer? Lipstick Killings? Virginia Tech? Texas Tower Shooter? San Isidro McDonalds Massacre? The anthrax scare appears to have been cooked up domestically by some nut job( if you believe the official reports).

Perhaps it would be better to speak with some clarity and not call it Terrorism, or the War on Terror, and instead call it what it is. The war between Muslim Extremists and Western Culture.

If you phrase it in those terms, you can eliminate the hundreds of other random violent incidents that occur with some regularity in the U.S. and focus on the coordinated and continuing efforts by Muslim extremists to wage war on the west. From there you can make an accurate assessment as to who has done a better job of stemming the violence in terms of detente and military action.

Without keeping track of specific statistics, the New York Synagogue bomb plot, Zazi, and the Ft. Hood Attack leave the impression that incidents of the Muslim war on the West occurring on U.S. soil are on the uptick, as well as the body count.

    I dunno:

Anthrax Attack's (American's were pissing themselves)

    Jewish Defense League (actual terrorists).

Shoe Bomber Richard Reid (actual terrorist intentions)

Egyptian gunman opens fire at an El Al ticket counter in Los Angeles airport there were 3 killed (I'm not sure)

D.C. Sniper Attacks (American's were pissing themselves)

Bombing of Mosque in Cincinati OH (actual terrorists)

Maybe the war on terror is really a war on Muslims? maybe that's what the guy thought who did this massacre?

Anyway goodnight all (beddy byes *kisses*)

The US Military failed to act against Hasan due to political correctness.

Here is a post on the web that appears to have been made by Nidal Hasan:

    http://www.scribd.com/NidalHasan

Hasan's fellow students complained to the faculty about "anti-American propaganda," but said a fear of appearing discriminatory against a Muslim student kept officers from filing a formal complaint.

Hasan raised eyebrows with comments that the war on terror was "a war on Islam" and wrestled with what to tell fellow Muslim solders who had their doubts about fighting in Islamic countries.

they should have made a psychological evaluation of him. considering that he worked in a hospital, other people should have seen that he is having problems. ignoring a problem will not make it go away. they should have known that too

ROFL. Thanks guys, I needed a laugh this morning. :D If they gave a Nobel Prize for Unintended Humor there are several potential recipients in this thread. I gotta say the standout is you, Zib. You're trying SO hard to be politically correct and ignore anything related to his parents national roots or his religious convictions that you willfully ignore glaring clues to the murderers motive.

Yes... maybe it's that the guy got taunted and bullied... maybe the stress on the military people that had been deployed somehow magically transferred to this guy that hadnt yet been in-country... maybe ghosts from Killeen's violent past made him act so... maybe he had an unhappy childhood... and certainly we can't rule out the possibility that the breakup of The Doobie Brothers traumatized him and he just never got over the shock. [I've heard that has happened to several people.]

Then again maybe he really is just a radical Muslim that was about to be sent into a war against radical muslims and he decided to act in accordance with the side he was really on. The fact that he's posted statements in sympathy with the suicide bombers, tried to get out of being deployed to fight fellow muslims, identifies himself as "Palestinian" despite being born in the US, and (this one is important and WILL be on the test)... screamed "Allahu Akbar" while murdering unarmed American soldiers in cold blood.... MIGHT provide a few valuable clues to his motive.

When you're standing on a horse ranch and you hear hoofbeats and someone says "Sounds like the horses are on the move"... it does NOT make you look intelligent to suggest they not jump to conclusions because "after all it could be zebras!". It just makes you look silly. Nonetheless, thanks for the comedy, and good luck on that Nobel Prize. You earned my vote. :)

ADDED: btw - 2nd prize for unintended humor goes to the kids that side with any murdering asshole so long as he happens to be Muslim or kills Americans. Dang you guys are easy. :p

Haha I would have giving you + rep for that but I have to spread some around.

My Heart goes out to the family of those lost. This goes to show that if you are in the military your life is at risk even on your own home soil.

If the exremists of the Right Wing had their way, as they did with the economy, which allowed the financial institutions to act so unhindered and take on so much risk that it has caused a recession which is the worst in decades.

    Nice going Right Wing.

On the Islamic issue. The US should tread carefully. As David Rohde referenced, possibly the only reason the US hasn't suffered terrorist attacks on its borders since 9/11 has been because Islamic Americans haven't responded to the fundamentalist terrorists.

Going forward that is a delicate issue. Inflame that population....and you have a growing world of potential terrorists. There have been and are plenty out there.

Just recently US FBI and police forces thwarted an effort from some Denver/NYC connection. Recently police/FBI thwarted some Detroit/Michigan group. They are out there.

The extremist Right Wing, sitting at their computers with loud mouths, would sit back and inflame inflame.

We didn't catch Hasan before he went and attacked soldiers. We missed it. He went berserk in the middle of an army base, where virtually all soldiers are unarmed and killed 13 while wounding 30. Thank god for the first officer, a woman who initially stopped him.

What a hero she is. She stopped him and took bullets from that madman.

Is he a terrorist? We don't know. Did he join with others? Doesn't seem so. Again we don't know.

Was he a random crazed guy, who favored Islam over the US and turned on his own fellow soldiers. Apparently yes.

    More will be revealed.

For all those turning this into another attack Obama thread: Grow up.

What about the US police and security forces catching the Denver/NYC terrorists. What about the US thwarting the recent Detroit issue.

You politicists are full of blame and unable to discern between reality and a world of political blaming: The only purpose is for the Right Wing to gain power.

And if the Right Wing gets power. My g-d that would be scary. Lets see they only caused the largest worst recession in about 70 years, put us into 2 wars which we are still fighting, 8 and 6 years later, and of course built up systemic federal debt which adds to the financial problems caused by the Right Wing extremist perspective on the economy.

Right Wing Extremism = Miserable Miserable Miserable Failure.

I keep thinking about Virginia Tech.

    Vicious killer for Christianity. Tragedy.
    Vicious killer for Islam. Terrorist.

    Columbine. Tragedy.
    Anything Muslim. Terrorist.

It's just more code words to mask racism.

There is no evidence they had anything to do with terrorism, other than being Muslim.

    So this is about racism?

How many innocent unarmed people did the guy have to murder in cold blood in order for them to be the victims instead of him? Talk about a warped perspective.

What I'm trying to understand is why when a tragedy occurs, people want to create a whole new class of victims because of what 1 person did.

There is no evidence of a plot, no evidence of group involvement, no evidence of foreign agents or intervention, no evidence of meetings and planning.

1 guy is involved and yet it is the greatest terrorist act known to man.

It seems some want to make a mountain out a molehill.

Nobody is "creating a whole new class of victims". If you're worried this incident might jeopardize our warm and enduring relationship with radical muslims that want us dead, relax, it will probably be about the same as it was.

Sen. Joe Lieberman's calls for an investigation as information has surfaced that Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan apparently attended the same Virginia mosque as two Sept. 11 hijackers in 2001, at a time when a radical imam preached there.

Classmates participating in a 2007-2008 master's program at a military college complained repeatedly to superiors about what they considered Hasan's anti-American views.

"If Hasan was showing signs, saying to people that he had become an Islamist extremist, the U.S. Army has to have zero tolerance," Lieberman, an independent from Connecticut, said on "Fox News Sunday." "He should have been gone."

This isn't the first time that a islamic extremist in the miliatry has turned on his fellow soilders.

What going to happen when the US put a couple of muslim extemists alone in a nuclear missle silo with the launch code?
