Or, the U.S. could step back and let Israel and Western Europe be victimized by nuclear blackmail. Although we may have great sympathy for the embattled democracy currently surviving in Israel, our love for our European brethren has taken quite a beating in the last decade. There is a growing isolationist movement in the U.S. which believes that the cure for all of our nations ills is secure borders -- as if a chainlink fence would work to stop a Mexican gardener and 100% cargo inspection would stop a ship loaded with a nuclear bomb from detonating in one of our ports. I hate to say this, but the next defense of civilization may be up to you guys alone. We've done it twice now and it seems that we may not have the moral strength to do it again. The U.S. may have lost its way, its courage, it's resolve, and its strength. If you Europeans cannot handle the next one alone, our combined civilization may be doomed. Islam is a much younger civilization. It is more aggressive and more virile. Its members are far more willing to reproduce and far more willing to spread their beliefs by any means available to them. Western civilization, which we share, is old and decadent. It's decaying. It has lost its older virtues and failed to replace them with new ones. We lack the fortitude of mind to feel that we are worth saving. We have replaced healthy introspection with morbid self loathing. Our technological strength gives us an edge, but that edge is meaningless when the civilization lacks the moral strength to use those technologies in our own self defense.

earl: I apologize; sort of. For some reason, I had it wedged in my head that you were British. I see in your location field that you are in Virginia. I can't really apologize, as that would be a terrible affront to our brothers who are British. There's really nothing wrong with being British; well nothing that any decent dentist couldn't fix. But still, I apologize for implying that you are European. With the current tensions between our two halves of the same culture, some could take that for a terrible insult. The rest of my argument still stands.

There are about 6 million Israeli's. There are about a billion Muslims. Do you really believe that the Israeli's dominate the Middle East? Were they all Jewish bankers?
The Israeli intelligence is a lot better than the US in Iran. Case in point. The recent bombing of a North Korean supplied nuclear facility on Syria.
It's more serious for them. When the Iranians finish developing their nuclear weapon, the consequences for us are great annoyance. The consequences for the Israeli's are total subjugation under an authoritarian Islamist regime. It is the end of their freedom and their democracy. It's jizyah forever.
