none of what you are saying really applies, because you have never seen anyone in war time situation, or been thru basic training

the idea because some listens to crappy music and isn't whatever you consider mascline, means they won't be able to handle combat is just stupid

and what do you predict about people?

What does this have to do with anything?

The idea isn't the music itself, but the sub-cultures that comes with it. Some listen to music (like myself), and don't mirror everything within. Good example is my parents. They loved 60's music, but they weren't hippies. They weren't smoking on the lawn protesting against the man.

Anyways, since you've never seen a true believer of living the 'emo' life, you haven't seen the overly emotional guys that are SOMETIMES produced. Now my thoughts are, if a guy can't handle little things in life, how's he going to handle a bullet going through his buddies head (in combat). It's like putting disease phobic-person in a doctors position, or fear of height individual in a helicopter seat (after he played the video game version of it)...lol. I'm sure there's a killer switch in all of us, but our breaking points are different. It's more appropriate, in this time and even in the past...to get those whom have that in them and can't be broken as easily.

I could never be a navy seal. If someone was going to torture me, I would be such a pussy, and tell them anything. At best, I could be a normal grunt, just doing what I'm told...but even that wouldn't be good for me, because I'm extremely anti-authority. Oddly you can find most of me through my music and comedy taste...but probably not on the level one would assume.

But to counter myself, I have known a handful of emo-like people, and they're not all overtly emotional. And emotions aren't all that bad, but being a man you have to control them at times.
Say I meet their friends, and their appearance follows an extreme or 'stereotype'...I think maybe they could sort of be like that 'stereotype'. Maybe.

    Example:
I knew a guy that dressed very commonly, and hung around gothic people. He seemed like a nice person, and entertaining...but I thought there were some skeleton's in his closet ie he was hiding something from everyone. Eventually he led me to a cementary, where he led me to an area in it, which wasn't open to the public. There he spoke of worshiping satan, and sacrificing birds. It seemed he wanted to spook me out,...but personally, I'm not really scared of a lot of things.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt, intially, but I had him spot on. Skeletons galore.

There's many cases like that in my life. I'd say I'm roughly wrong 10% of the time, and those people are usually the ones I like. I like people that are true individuals ie they seek their path by self-exploration, not laziness.

you say that like its a good thing

well people act whatever way they can get away with, when someone is put in situtation were they are in fear of bodily harm they can adjust pretty quickly

You really go with another guy to hangout in cemetary at night?

What were you hoping he would show you?

Funny I think the opposite then you you, I think most young people are basically same

they all go work , pay taxes , and drink somewhere on the weekend

Is a hippy suppose to be a good thing?
Well, given a chose of whom was beside me in war: My childhood friend that kicked-ass on a daily basis or the boy that cried every other day (because a music trend made it popular)....most likely I'm picking my friend.

That's why Navy Seals have those extra high standards...because the average cat won't handle it. Same should apply to our military...just a tad bit lower.

He was the ride home....I was young (17, I believe). It wasn't at night, it was durning the day. We had the same last class...
Hoping for nothing, just hoping for a ride home.

Although something about me was different at the time. I didn't really give a fuck. I did many things back in the days that would be considered dangerous or could have put me in danger. I figured if he did any creepy shit, I'd kick his ass and take his car home.

This isn't Breakfest Club, 'we all aren't a nerd, criminal, jock, wack-job, and cheerleader.'

You lived in NY, didn't you. Not everyone is the same. There's a bit of beauty in our differences and ugliness. I find beauty in things which aren't artificial and geniune.

We all have some common values and actions.

People grow-up due to social pressures. People mildy adjust to adopt to the opposite sex....many things are done out compromise, not out of ideal. If it was up to most men (ie if we could get it all anyways) we'd have sex with a girl in cardboard box, and play sports all day.
