Interesting. Of course the Government would never confess.

You are right, no Government will confess... as these hackers are freelancers... I just hope all the hackers get the best punishment ever... so it will never repeat again... Just people like us suffer :(

In my own experiences, using the IP tracking technique to judge who is hacker might be out of date. There are so many cheating tricks to be used by hackers.

    Thanks,

They can only track them and send the information to Chinese officials. There's not much US can do to punish the hackers.

This is quite true and even China knows about it and even knew that it was done from School. But never the Chinese govt will confess about it and the things will settle down with time..

You would think that the person clever enough to put this together would have the ability to fully cover their tracks. I would love to see the story turned into a documentary that explores every aspect of the attack and the knock on effects

even if they find who or which group was behind that alleged attack, US authorities don't have any jurisdiction over Chinese nationals. and China would never hand over their citizens to US authority. if the hack was done by Chinese people on a site that is operating out of China, not sure how US can prosecute them. they can however hand over the intel to Chinese authority and its upto Chinese govt. whether or not to file charges against those people.

Hehe fun part about this.. how much you want to bet it´s a hacker using Chinese proxyservers or unixshells to hide his real IP? that´s what i would do since the Chinese will tell us gov to go f themselves...;)
