So the account you got banned from was your first account and not another one you succeded in setting up?

Let me ask you this. Did you allow someone to use your Pub-ID on their site? If so, you have to know which site you gave permission to.

To answer your first question regarding Google's standing with publishers, who are getting banned in droves (it seems) at the end of the month. Google's credibility to me is in high standing to know that "bad" AdSense publishers (not accusing you of clicking your own ads - Google has banned for invalid clicks, so I use the word "bad" based solely on that fact) are being weeded out. It seems that this is typically done at the end of the month, not just because they feel like banning a bunch of people "one fine day"; but more because it's when they take inventory of online activity for the past few weeks - good and bad activity.

You could be right - but I wouldn't recommend doing it. As I said before, if someone clicks your ads trying to get you kicked out of the program, there is no lawful action you can take against them for it. This Internet revenue "thingy" is too new, and much of the risk of using programs such as AdSense and AdWords is assumed by us because we aren't legally protected from such monsters as click fraud.

    Tara...

I understand what you are saying from an advertisers point of view, how else are you protected? When I start advertising my ads through them I would want some protection too, but take back my $14 or so and give me a stern warning. To that end I've been given a chance, lost my earnings, but can still continue (even on a conditional status), after that... then I can more thouroughly understand being completely banned from the program. Now, one should also know about the TOS and such, and so I'm not saying that what I got was wrong, but I hope you see what I'm getting at?

However, what I was really trying to say was that they didn't "look" at my appeal (I don't think). Simply because when I admitted to there being invalid clicks their responce was "we have rereviewed and found their were invalid clicks". In other words, they're not even trying when they've got the front of "Oh look, we have an appeals board... suckers!" See? It's more like an automated responce system instead of an actual fair appeal. Has anyone actually won an appeal?

I'm not sore at losing my account, there are other ways. It just makes me wonder, as said previously, if someone else (as was mostly my case) continuesly clicks on links, (what if someone actually liked 5 of your ads?) especially if they are, supposedly, not really evaluating any appeals... (I could be very wrong on this issue)!

BTW, Do they ban advertisers (for anything)? Say you submit an ad against their TOS, do they ban you from EVER posting anymore ads or just that ad?

As far as I know they just reject your ad and doesn't run it until you fix it.

I just got banned as well. I seriously don't click my ads, I read everyday on how to improve my ad placements, SEO, etc. And that's how I get my clicks. Sad day.

From all the stories about being banned, I'm kind of scared to put adsense on my site until I get some decent traffic - or would that even matter?

For those that got banned, what kind of traffic did your site have?

The best defense against getting banned from Adsense is not to put Adsense on any of your sites at all. Ever. I've heard that this works.

    banned by google?

that not the end of the world. Join YPn, adbrite, etc....

YPN pays good. Adbrite has adsense format ADs too.

look at this adsense alternative link. choose one and move on!

If an advertiser's ads are against the TOS, so what. That is something that can be remedied. If I create an ad that is against the TOS, I am not taking money from anyone; there's a big difference there. Advertisers are SPENDING MONEY with Google...AdSense publishers are MAKING MONEY with Google.

I think Google are far more likely to keep the advertisers happy. We are the ones paying Google's bills. AdSense publishers are a dime a dozen. For every person that gets banned, there are at least ten more waiting to get an AdSense account. If Google doesn't keep their advertisers happy, they will eventually lose their AdWords business to another PPC company, like Yahoo!.

Where would Google be without their AdWords revenue? Maybe they are bias, but why wouldn't they be?

And imagine a situation when all the google Advertisers are happy and you have only Publishers for Yahoo. I should pity you for thinking "If an advertiser's ads are against the TOS..SO WHAT?" cos if you are violating the TOS, then you are cheating - that's it. You are cheating the people who are likely to click your ads.

When u give an ad saying - "Come in and get free mp3s" while you actually ask to download a software - thats against the TOS and is cheating !! hope you got your answer.

what i was telling is that - when you do a business, u got to do it with credible partners, be it advertiser or publisher - otersie its a short lifed product!

You must be one of those advertisers who make money getting traffic to your site cheating people - going against the TOS - which is why you say - SO WHAT?

You cant take it for granted the situation here- google will only be concerned for making advertisers happy - if you dont have any publishers, who doesnt trust you - u will be equally worried as we are.

dont think that google will always make money doing this "get the losers banned at the month -end, get free advertising till then" strategy for ever.

    Poeple are watching them carefully!

    OKAY, LET ME REPHRASE!

I HAVE MADE ADS THAT GO AGAINST TOS BEFORE, BUT ONLY BECAUSE I MISTAKENLY THOUGHT I COULD USE THE TERM "OKIDATA"; A BRAND FOR WHICH I SELL CABINETS AND STANDS. NO, I DON'T CHEAT PEOPLE INTO COMING TO MY WEB SITE. I DON'T CHEAT ANYONE FOR ANYTHING. I WAS REFERRING TO MISTAKES IN ADS THAT GO AGAINST TOS; NOT SOMEONE PURPOSEFULLY CREATING ADS THAT GO AGAINST TOS.

YOU ARE QUICK TO POINT FINGERS IN MY DIRECTION, BUT I AM NOT THE ONE, WHO WAS KICKED OUT OF ADSENSE. I AM A REPUTABLE BUSINESSWOMAN, AND YOU ARE WRONG IN YOUR ASSUMPTION OTHERWISE.

THE ONLY WAY I MAKE MONEY IS FROM SALES ON MY WEB SITE. I DON'T RUN ADSENSE ON MY SITE, SO I CREATE ADS STATING WHAT MY CUSTOMERS WILL FIND IF THEY CLICK AN AD. THERE WOULD BE NO REASON FOR ME TO TRICK SOMEONE INTO VISITING MY SITE. I HAVE NEVER CONSIDERED "TRICKING" SOMEONE INTO COMING TO MY WEB SITE TO PURCHASE SOMETHING. THAT WOULD BE STUPID. IF MY WEB SITE DOESN'T HAVE WHAT THE AD SAYS IT DOES, WHAT GOOD WOULD IT DO ME TO DRAW IN CUSTOMERS - IT'S MY MONEY I'M SPENDING PER CLICK, SO IF I WERE CHEATING ANYONE, IT WOULD BE MYSELF. I WOULD BE TAKING MONEY FROM MYSELF IN THAT CASE.

THIS ISSUE IS DEAD. YOU WERE 86'D FROM THE PROGRAM. MOVE ON, AND QUIT WHINING.
