I'm considering blocking words like "u", "ur", in my Adwords account. I'd guess that people using these words are highly likely to be one of the following: Kids (and therefore unlikely to purchase) Idiots/semi-literates (who are far less likely to have money, or be interested in my semi-technical topic.) I don't block typos, but with some misspellings, it's clear that it's not a typo, but a case of semi-literacy. (For instance, "maek" is probably a typo, but "mack" definitely isn't.) I think it's reasonable to assume a fairly strong correlation between various factors here, and act accordingly. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
It might be worth a try - it's a pretty sad indictment of the English language at the moment that 'text speak' is so prevalent - it's not necessarily kids or semi-literates unfortunately...
