Are typographically similar domain names prosecutable as TM infringements in USA, Canada, Europe? Not sure what the current legal climate is around this.

As a for instance, could Amazon successfully sue amazoo/amazom/amazok.com etc?

Perhaps one of the moderators can move this over there?

As long as the trademark holder can demonstrate the typo is possibly riding on
their mark, yes. How to go about it depends on a variety of things like what's
the domain name extension, what the law says in their jurisdiction, etc.
