Typing letter using ascii on ubuntu

    Hi guys,

    I got a problem with my keyboard and I can not type a-letter with my keyboard. Do you have any idea how may I type the letter using it's ascii code. I tried the windows method with the alt+ascii but is not working.
    I am using Ubuntu 10.04
