I want opinions!
i wouldnt agree with the scores. PR probably would depend on backlink quality, content quality, number of authority websites in the niche, internal website structure etc etc.
I am confused. The guys I am working with discount PR altogether, brand it as humbug. Instead I am supposed to concentrate on links that allow anchor text and sites that are three or more years old.
I wouldn't put article marketing and guest blog posts in the same basket. Guest posting is much higher quality in my opinion. Your post is actually read by a larger and more responsive audience, and the SEO value is also higher because your post doesn't get instantly buried in a 10-level deep archive folder almost instantly. I have invested a lot in article marketing in these past few months, and the results weren't worth it versus guest posting (the latter which required 100x less investment and was 10x more effective).
Agreed, it is humbug - but it is useful at times. I don't consider it a useful stat for SEO BUT if I am selling a site or links then my PR is a vital factor that makes a big difference to income. So whilst it may not matter much in terms of SEO (it has some effect imo, but not much) it does matter because people make it matter... and in certain niches people like that can make you some good money!
