Link building or link exchange is the most effective approach to get higher rank in major search engines. Types of link building used commonly are following. 1. one way linking: In this type of link building one site linked on other website because of its content quality and usability and not for any business purpose. Just for example website x have its link on website y but site y has not link on website y website x -> website y 2.Reciprocal linking: In reciprocal linking two sites link to each other for mutual benefit each other in terms of link popularity. Like Site x has link on Site y and site y has also a link to site x in return. Website x <-> website y It is also known as two-way link exchange. 3. three-way linking: In this type of linking a webmaster having two different sites asks a link for one of his site to other webmaster and in return he link other webmaster site on his another site. Like a webmaster Bomberman have two different websites x & y and other webmaster Subliminal has a site z then site x will be linked on site z and site z will be linked on site y website x -> website z -> website y
Yes... you are right!! The one way linking is easy way to increase page rank of a site and also shoot up to top spot at search engines for particular keywords.
Three-Way link exchange. This term is used in case when more than two pages are involved in linking. It means that Page A is linking to Page B and Page B is linking to Page C. But Page B is not linking to Page A and Page C is not linking to Page B.
Unfortunately, now Google finds out about not only reciprocal links but about three way link exchange also, so one way link exchange remains the most most beneficial one!
Is there a term for if a webmaster has multiple web sites and agrees a link exchange with another member without either linking to each others same sites, if that makes sense. I guess these are classed as one way links but just wondered if there was a term for it?
OP said one way linking is one site linked to another because of content quality and usability and not for business purposes. But for retail sites, is there any way at all to obtain one way links? The majority of retail sites only do link exchanges obviously, but is there a good solid, non-spammy way to get one way links if you're a retail site? Do you think informational or organization websites that aren't selling anything willing to add a merchant as a link without reciprocating? I really don't know as I am new to this, so I thought I'd ask.
Google thinks reciprocal links are an attempt to manipulate serps (black hat). Is it just me or is that ridiculous.
@marketexpert: every activities that is against google's point of view in generating popularity (money) would be considered as black hat because google has what's so called adwords just my 2 cents and CMIIW
Thanks for sharing this important information about link building but can you tell us what techniques you generally use for link building....
Our links are manually built and we do not employ any software (not even arelies...) for this. Our team members visit sites manually, check their themes and PR (page rank) and then contact their webmasters individually.
