Typed up a whole post, when I clicked submit the thread was gone! :-(

Lol... I was just responding to a new member who made their first post an ad in a discussion forum... by the time I got to pressing submit, the moderators beat me to it and deleted the thread completely and Vbulletin told me it didn't exist.

I'm suprised so many people try to get away with that. Maybe if we bombard the site with pop up warnings with legal jargon about spam we'll get rid of the spammers, while driving away half the members with annoying pop-ups.

One of these days, I hope it all ends, and everyone online is honest, follows all the rules and everyone is happy... might get a little dull, like pleasantville though I guess...

We can't delete something that wasn't submitted yet. Until you press submit it's only available client side. We're fast, but we're not THAT fast.

Hang on... I see you mean the thread got deleted... Oh well, sorry the n00b wasted your time...

lol... happened to me many times.

Another thing that usually happens is that you type a whole explanation of something, and once you hit submit you see that 3 other people have already replied while you were typing and you end up looking like if you are just repeating what everything else said.

lol... I have had that one happen to me on other boards before... It's one of those pisses you off while making you laugh kind of things.

The n00bs will keep doing it until the end of time I'm sure, it will just be somebody different the next time... Glad to see you guys do such a good job here. I'm starting to feel right at home at DP. It's becoming my favorite forum of all time, and I haven't even been here 2 weeks yet!

I see you even moved my thread to a more appropriate catagory, thank you. It started out as more of a general rant about n00bs and spammers, but definately went a bit astray from that. Keep up the good work! :)
