No there is not, however, Google will take care of any type of sitemaps contents you upload to your google account.

The sitemap-news.xml is great if you run news or article website.

You can use the above websites to create one for your website contents and one for mobile users...Google will sort out the contents i.e. if you have sitemap.xml and sitemap-mobile.xml, Google will deliver your website contents for mobile users via the mobile sitemap, and also will deliver your website contents to web users via your website sitemap.

The mobile sitemap is usually for mobile websites, but you can use it so mobile users can find your website on their smart phones.

Just note, you will not see the mobile sitemap contents for your online web users.and vise versa...so create both or all if you can....:)

Image sitemap is to index your website images if you have an image website site like flickr or any other. I do not think that google accept this type of sitemap also all urls will be ignored, so I do not think you should worry about creating one.. Just remember that all images will get indexed by Googlebot Images by crawling the pages where they are found, of course unless you tell Googlebot not to index any then it would not..

    The sitemaps that Google accepts
    sitemap.xml
    sitemap-mobile.xml
    sitemap-code.xml
    sitemap-news.xml
    sitemap-geo.xml

Just click on each sitemap link above for more details....

    Thanks:)

Actually, Google says if you do not have skills to create an XML file then you can just create a text file with one link per line.

I have big question with XML sitemap. Is it advisable or not? I found too many websites without XML sitemap. But, They are crawled very well as well as rank very well in Google, Yahoo & Bing.

As per my study over XML sitemap, I found that, XML sitemap is useful to give our website links info to Google. But, I think Google set automatically priority for any website. For example Digg: It has no XML sitemap but, Google is crawling very well for most of pages.

You suggested very great info regarding XML sitemap creation & hope It will help us to maintain XML sitemap during website which have 500+ links. But, This is my mind bubble & need to know answer.

    Dear gtk29,
You can also use XML sitemap generator to create a XML site for the website.

    Check the url: xml-sitemaps.com
