A simple question from a newbie.... How can i predict if a domain will receive type in traffic? Tips for choosing a type in domain. Thanks in advance.
Type-in traffic is very rare nowdays ... Unless you have an external product, don't expect any. When I say external product, I mean ... if you owns "walmart", people may typed-in "walmart.com". If you own "pringles", people may typed=in "pringles.com". If you find something ... make sure it is a .com. When people type-in domains, they always type it with a .com (unless you are government or specific to a country (in which case, the country .us or .ca, etc))
I found some domain names available that can get type in traffic.... but i can´t spect huge volume. I also was thinking on domain parking. Are there people making money with this combination? Can i make money with a parked domain and no SEO or Promotion... just type in? Thanks...
Some words still work, for example: sell, buy, purchase, plumber, carpenter, etc. Of course they are highly competitive keywords, but if you do consistent SEO, you will make it.
I have a lot of domains parked. If you want referral links/suggestions, PM me. I'm already helping 2-3 people with domain parking, so a little more won't hurt. If you do enough research you can find some domains with good type-in. I got one domain that received 100 visits the first day, after it was indexed in Google--even with a parked page--it now receives 150-200 uniques/day. Fresh reg'd domain. As for expired domains, those are tough to find, but achievable. I just picked up a .net a couple days ago that has already made 50cents unoptimized. Some people think 50cents isn't worth it, but I'm sure after I optimize it I'll be making much more /day since the traffic is there . Parking is worth if you have good names. I personally have about 50000 visitors per month from type in traffic and make some money from parking although not very much. I would say that the country code domains are more easily achievable since the competion is lower although their traffic is usually not very well paid. But to find good com's is not so easy nowadays. type in traffic is good when you want users to recommend your site to others as well. If it is memorable enough, then people may type in when they hear about it from a friend. It is rarer for most sites but if a site has some real buzz, you can get a lot of type in traffic.
