After many year of a private life, leaders at Twitter have decided to go public. It happened last night, the new IPO TWTR will be selling stock on the New York Stock Exchange even though many people expected Twitter to go with Nasdaq. It appears that Twitter has a lot of revenues, but also more losses. I will follow this very closely to see how people will respond to this new IPO? What will be the advantage for Twitter users? For your information, the giant Twitter is investing in new technology that according to the projection will benefit the company in the future. This explains all the losses the company is registering, but with more investment the story can be different? There are a lot of implications with anybody who uses Twitter for business, as a marketing tool or just as another social media platform. What do you think?
One of the main reasons that they probably listed on the NYSE is because they probably got paid more money to list on the NYSE. The NYSE makes money from volume of shares traded so they will pay more for companies that can drive traffic to their exchange.
Nainao9, it sounds like you've got the market figured out! We might have to sit down sometime for a little "Trading 101". About your post though, I'm finding out more and more that everything is related to money when it comes to the stock market. I can't believe how much money is thrown around in the market. Thanks for your post!
