Using the wordpress platform is one of the best ways to build a website if you don't have experience with coding and dreamweaver and all of that. If you wanted to monetize the blogs, you'd have to add more content so that it gets regularly crawled by Google. You might even try building a list so that you can directly market to people. It's a good start!
