Two sites on the same IP?

I have been making simple little landing pages and hosting them with 000webhost. Recently they gave me the same IP address to host two of my sites, is this normal? I tried uploading another different landing page to the same IP address, but it doesn't show up. Only "Index of /" How do I put up two pages on the same IP address?

Having sites share Ip addresses is a common practice. Usually hosting companies host many sites on one IP (shared hosting); i.e. shared IP, shared resources, shared disk space.

I do not know what 000webhost's policies are, but contact their support. They can tell you what is going on. An 'index of /' means that apache can't find the default page (usually index.html or index.php).

You will find many hosting companies offering Shared IP's for different websites and this is normal. If you have chosen a free hosting package from them then you cannot expect for more ;)

However, if you have chosen a paid hosting package then you can ask for another IP address if you need it. Otherwise, if this is fine for you, you can contact them and ask them for help to setup different websites on the same IP address and they should help you to sort this out :)

Sounds like you were typing in the IP address of the site to get the "Index of /"?

Look into your VirtualHost configuration on your server.
