Two Questions on Compliance

    Hey everyone,

I'm starting a new website in the "make money online" niche and plan to use AdSense on the site. AdSense's policies still seem to have some gray areas so I wanted to check a couple things before I go forward.

My first question is this: within their policies, Adsense says that websites which contain "Content regarding programs which compensate users for clicking ads or offers, performing searches, surfing websites or reading emails" are not allowed. I am confused on what this means. I currently plan to devote several pages of my website to explaining what AdSense is (as well as other types of programs, such as CPA), how you make money when people click your ads, what NOT to do with your ads, etc. Is that not allowed or is Google referring to programs where I get paid to go out and click ads myself? Could this sort of content I plan to post risk getting me banned?

Secondly, I have also heard before that having bad or too little content can get you banned. How much content do you think is enough for a page that has two Google ad boxes (the ~300 x ~300 ones) on it? Currently it varies, but my pages contain anywhere from 300 words to 1500. Will 300 cut it with ads on the page?

    Thanks a lot

that u need to decide. if for some reason goolge thinks u are engaging in asking click for ads it can hurt your adsense account. so be careful with such contents

okay. but its not illegal simply to talk about adsense and programs that pay you when people click your ads? my content will in no way encourage people to click ads, mainly just explaining how ads + traffic = $$$$

It really depends on what exactly you write. If any of it could be construed as pointing people to your ads or suggesting they click, then that's a problem. Even worse, some not so intelligent people may read it and decide "I'll help The Site Man out and click his ads", and click click click you have invalid clicks.

Maybe put different ads on those specific pages?

I'd say probably fine, especially if it's your original content. Too little content is usually more like a two sentence post with a link, or all images or videos (which the Adsense bot can't see).

One of my very first site has gotten banned before for having little content that gave viewers ZERO value. That site was stuffed with AdSense ads everywhere, and a lot of keyword stuffing. Those are called "Made For Adsense" and Google frowns on those. If you provide valuable content that truly helps viewers, then you will be fine.

"Content regarding programs which compensate users for clicking ads or offers, performing searches, surfing websites or reading emails" simply means no incentives. It could be as simple as "click my ads and I will provide you this free ebook" type of deal.
