hey Im freelancing here and at GAF for a good month. Ive made a decent vage, and now I need to work on that. I have two questions. As everyone else I would like to show my works, so that I get new jobs. Ive opened my blog and have posted a couple of the items, but Im afraight, that if I post them, they won't pass copysape any more. SO how do you do it? Is it ok, if I post just a part of the article? Im not using MS Word, because I just hate them. I use openoffice, and there is a problem with the missing gramar check. What do you use for it? I've just downloaded language tools, but it doesn't work good enough for me. P.
I use openoffice as well. There are several tools available on the internet for grammar check. I can't personally recommend any because I don't have much of a need for them. You could try a free service like http://www.spellchecker.net/spellcheck/ but I wont make any promises. As for posting your articles online I see no problem with it. I do it as well and have no problem with copyscape. I tell all of my clients that unless I sign an NDA and they pay for full rights of the work I retain the right to use the work in my public portfolio.
Post your articles as images. They will pass all tests using this method. PDF will soon be indexable by the major search engines, so I don't suggest using them at all.
Top Dollar is exactly right; that is the best option when adding samples to your freelance writing website...
IceFalcon. Ive just discovered the spellcheker that you have mentioned. Its doing good for me, but still searching for a better software. Anything payable, maybe? Top dollar, what do you use to make a pic out of a doc document? That is a good idea P.
Why don't you just write a few short articles for the blog that are totally unique? Or you can link to your content if you have permission from the webmaster - the beginnings of a portfolio, if you will.
