    I am stumped

I have a few PR4 backlinks for a particular term pointing to my main page.

My main page is fairly optimized for it.

Yet a sub-page is coming up in the SERPS on page 2 or so.

The sub page is optimized for the PR4 links, but they're not pointing at IT, they're pointing at my main page.

Do you thing this subpage is making it hard for me to rank for my main page for this term?

If your sub page is showing up for that term, that means that it has content related to that term so maybe its a good thing that your sub page is ranking well

May be you can use a 301 redirect from the subpage to the main page, so that even if users click to the subpage, they'll get to your main page. 301 redirect is search engine friendly as well.
