Hello there, my country has open up registration for its TLD. Currently there are a few more two letters domain that is yet to be grabbed. Should I invest all I have on them? If yes, what should I do for the best ROI for those domain names? It will looks like ab.cd

It's basically quite cheap. What should I do in order to generate the best income from them? I have limited funds basically. I reselll them as it is only available to citizens of my own country.

As they are cheap, wise idea is to buy a few at least, maybe 3 to 10, or more if you can. Two letters domains are quite valuable, in any extension.

Then install wordpress blogs on them writing about subjects you like and/or are knowledgeable about. An alternative to blogs are mini sites with auto updated content available on the internet, which you just install and it keep posting current news. Put AdSense on both.

They will not generate much income that way but the point here is to keep the domain minimumly profitable to pay for reg fee and wait for a "buy offer" in the future.

To make real money, just develop those domains into real sites, like any real business. But you will have prime real estate!

    Is your country Malaysia?

Try to get domains where the word when affixed spells a common english word.

For example: Jim.my A common form of James.

Rum.my a card game (or an alcoholic)

Dum.my I assume you know what that is

    oh.my might be good.

    You get the idea.

I don't really think any of those would be golden, but someone would want them if they aren't taken.

Too bad the extension doesn't come first. You'd make a fortune on my.* domains.

    Good point.

    Others like:
    Hi.my
    Oi.my
    By.my
    AA.my
    ...

But even PQ.my or ZH.my will have good value soon. Letters only, no numbers. Or numbers only like 11.my... .

The thing is i might not be able to resell the domains to international users, and selling them to local will be difficult too since it says the only way to transfer the domain is to delete and register it again. How am i making double letter domains into real sites since they don't have any meaning. Else i will do something like delicious.

If you can get your hands on oh.my , I am sure you will find international partners willing to invest in the site. It could be sort of big. That's about the shortest meaningful domain on the planet.
I wouldn't bother with nonsense ones.
FYI, in case they don't use it where you are, "oh, my!" is a common exclamation of surprise. So it would have to be a really interesting site, probably image/videos of really astonishing things.
Go buy it before this thread gets indexed.

You can brand them or use the initials for a real name or create subdomain with rich keywords, for example.

By far the best advice in this thread.

Too bad oh.my is already taken. There are many of them taken by local webhost companies and ISPs.

Alright guys, I got myself an 0h.my (oh.my taken by local hosting company already). Any idea what to do with it? As I'm having an important exam this year, I would like to handle something with minimum time investment. Prefer something with user generated content instead as I can imagine me abandoning the website if I were to update them manually frequently.
